If I’m a member of Missouri’s offense, I’m concerned with the defense coming to Columbia on Friday afternoon.

And if I’m a Missouri fan, I’m kicking myself that the Tigers have to win.

There are plenty of storylines around the first-ever Battle Line Rivalry. Arkansas is a surging, confident football team looking to end its regular season with three consecutive victories. Meanwhile, Gary Pinkel’s Missouri squad is in the midst of an impressive month of football in which the Tigers keep finding ways to win.

For the Razorbacks, momentum heading into a bowl game and 2015 is on the line. For Mizzou, there’s slightly more. Should the Tigers win, Missouri will lock up back-to-back SEC East titles and will earn its way back to Atlanta.

If the Tigers lose, Georgia will get the nod as East champ.

For a Missouri offense that has been inconsistent this season, Robb Smith’s defense presents a significant challenge.

Arkansas has put all the pieces together on defense at the perfect time. Tackling is improved, communication is much better and the Hogs’ playmakers are making plays.

The result? Back-to-back shutouts of top-2o opponents.

The way Arkansas secondary has been playing Mauk could have a rough day on Friday.

Since we're so happy to be going bowling...look for the turkey on the day after Thanksgiving.

IMO the game will be decided by how Missouri's D plays. Their pass rush is legit and if they put us in too many 3rd and longs we'll be in trouble. If we stay on schedule with 3+ ypc we'll probably win.

It's a shame Brandon Allen and Derby likely aren't playing.

It's a solid defense. It's one of the better run defenses in the East. I'm pulling for Arkansas for obvious reasons but I think Mizzou's defense matches up well against Arkansas' offense.

Since it's such a good run defense, I'm guessing it did really well against UGA?

Yep, and we are just getting worse and worse. First Indiana, then Georgia, and by now I bet even kU would shut us out.

I believe Mizzou held Georgia to their season low for yards per carry. They just had a lot of carries due to Mizzou's offense, 5 turnovers, and holding the ball for 43 minutes of the game.

Actually, yes it did. We held them to, by far, their lowest YPC of the year. We were the only team all year to check Chubb.

Our defense is very legit. You aren't going to do much of anything on offense.

It's hard to tell. We are committed to running between the tackles like no other team in the SEC. I think everyone has to agree UGA runs a similiar style and throttled Missouri. I know Missouri likes to blame their turnovers on the final score-- but that's what tends to happen when you play a defensive power running team.

Lol.

Just lol. You have no idea what in the frick you are talking about nor what our defense is going to do to you.

Our game against UGA was 100% a lack of any offense and turnovers. Period. End of story.

So yeah, if you win the TO battle 5-0 then you will likely win the game. Being how that is "usually what happens when you play a defensive power running team"...i guess we are fricked.

Daily reminder for mizz fans - when someone points out a strength of another team, they aren't saying it is a weakness of missouri.

We had 2 interceptions in the first quarter. The 2 interceptions were thrown inside our own 30 yard line. They were the 2nd and 3rd times our offense touched the ball that day.

Just one of those days...

You could switch these two names and the same would be true.

I don't think anyone would argue with that.
