I won't stand for it. You inbred swine wouldn't even have a country if it weren't for Texas.
TEXAS!
Huh? Texas couldn't even beat Mexico without outside help, and you lost the civil war just like the rest of the south.
What country are you speaking of?

Yeah, I mean, as much as I hate to say this, had the Vols not bailed you out, yall wouldn't be proud of your brisket. You'd be proud about your tacos...

I’ve never IN MY LIFE have met someone who was like, “Come over this weekend, I’m throwing pork loins in the smoker.” Or whatever y’all cook.
As for sides, traditional rice and beans, or Mac n cheese. Or jalapeños wrapped in bacon with cream cheese and Quail.
I've also never had anyone tell me they are smoking pork loin.
What kind of retarded shite is this?

South Carolina actually is split into 3rds when it comes to sauce. Tomato, mustard or vinegar and all 3 are better than Texas bbq

Those MFers probably put mustard or ketchup in their tacos.

They're both good. Not sure why we have to argue over it.
This is the correct answer.
But I don't even remember the last time I saw beef ribs at the market. However, there is always a big section for pork ribs.
So I'm pretty sure I know what people are mostly eating and it's not even remotely close.

If you don't know how to properly smoke a pig then yes tomato sauce is a great cover.

What award? James Beard award?
Aaron Franklin has one of those
Didn’t know that, Rodney was the only pit master to win it whenever he won it, either way a higher authority has been established which means your “meat judging” expertise is a moot point.

Come on brah, EVERYBODY bbqs pork ribs from TX to SC...

This thread is to say which are better. Either have the pride to pick one as best and chastise the other side, or die in middle as neutral.

What's real and what's best are two different things. BBQ pork ribs and BBQ brisket are both REAL BBQ in my backyard...

Texans smoke the meat and after it is done, they mop sauce on the meat. Barbque is cooking meat over a hot fire with sauce on it while cooking. I lived in Texas for 11 years and learned the smoke vs barbque st
If you saw someone smoking meat and putting sauce on it while smoking it then they don't know what they are doing. Proper bbq doesn't require any sauce at all. You can add it if you want but the meat must stand alone and be incredible.

Wet bbq is lame AF - pork or beef...
Sauce is always on the side.

A properly done Texas BBQ beef rib truly is life changing. If you havent tried it, (or tried it and had a bad experience) you should go to Terry Black's in either Austin, Dallas or go to the original Black's in Lockhart.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy skillfully done pork ribs as well, but it's just not the same as the beef. I will give you the pork is less expensive if you take the whole fam, but there's a good reason for that.
