If they're gonna go back in time for sports theme music, they should try and get the rights to 'Gathering Crowds'; it was the theme music that played during the closing credits for "This Week in Baseball":

This should be known as the “Ron Franklin” theme. This is a good nostalgia track from ESPN in the 90’s. Hard to believe some people don’t remember it. ESPN knows that the CBS theme was loved because of the nostalgia part of it. Now this isn’t that theme but it’s better than some generic shite that ESPN is more than capable of producing. At least the SEC’s music will be different than every other conference’s.
Still think they should’ve gone with the old BCS theme though. That was the GOAT.

No Network has ever used an actual song as the theme song. They use some sort of generic instrumental (like the CBS song and the song in my OP)
Dipshit. Like I said it was a graphics package with a generic instrumental song people assumed was the sound track.

I was hoping they would stick with the classic song, I just wish they hadnt tried to juice it up. Just leave it like it was in the early 2000s.

Does nothing for me. When listening to CBS theme it made me go outside and check on the ribs, pour a new cold beer, scream Roll Tide. This is horrible. Disney is really screwing up our sport.
I hope Sankey and the SEC go out for bid one day and get several partners like the Big Ten. Fox is so much better than ESPN.

That’s pretty bad. The CBS theme song made your hair stand on edge.
