Little Rock has quite a bit of good places to eat.

This isn’t just people in the northeast
All over the world people know nyc is the greatest city on earth and much better than the entire south combined

Disagree… rural Virginia has it beat.
Lots of towns here encourage the “walk everywhere” mentality while still holding onto the Southern hospitality and personality. It’s not “The South” but very close.
Plus it doesn’t get nearly as blisteringly hot.

Then why are people up North moving to the South?

It isn't deep south but it has plenty of southern influence.

Processed food, fast food, soft drinks, etc are the cheapest food options. Poor people eat shitty food. Shitty diets lead to being fat. People cooked at home a lot more 50 years ago
I think another part of it is the tradition of big arse breakfasts with grease and lard in the south. It goes back to being an agrarian society, but nowadays there's absolutely no need for it.
Around here there are two or three convenience stores that serve all of that shite for breakfast and they are packed between 6:30-8:30 every morning.

The difference is that people that lived in the south decades ago worked outside much more than they do today.
But obesity is across the nation and I believe our addiction to sugar is a big cause of that.

It’s cheaper and they can’t afford to live in the north
Real estate is supply and demand
High demand with low supply because all the people who want to really do something with their lives want to live in NYC
Nobody wants to live in Brookland Arkansas that is why it is cheap to live there, but anyone can live there because it is so cheap
Everyone who matters wants to live in Brooklyn NY that’s why it’s so expensive and only the elite can afford it
Those who are too poor move to the south

Man, shut your goofy arse up.
I realize you're trolling, (or at least attempting to anyway) but you, me and everyone else know damn well that people are moving here because it's just better. The weather is better, the people are better, (and better looking) it's just plain better.

Outside of Miami how many modeling agencies are there in southern cities?
NYC has dozens, maybe even hundreds, in Manhattan alone.
The weather down south is not better, way too hot and humid for half the year

African American women have the highest rates of obesity or being overweight compared to other groups in the United States. About 4 out of 5 African American women are overweight or obese.
In 2018, non-Hispanic blacks were 1.3 times more likely to be obese as compared to non-Hispanic whites.
In 2018, African American women were 50 percent more likely to be obese than non-Hispanic white women.
From 2015-2018, non-Hispanic black females were 2.3 times more likely to be overweight as compared to non-Hispanic white females.
This is because more than 60% of all blacks live in the South.
Blacks that live outside the South don't have near the same level of obesity.
Southern Whites are the fattest whites by far as well.

Yep, the Northeast is full of honest, hard working, goodhearted Americans - just like the rest of the country.
Although, I will admit the cooking still has a way to go in many places up there.
But the comment that the "attitudes and biases of the people in the large urban areas across the country, specifically in the Northeast, are generally not people I want to hang out with" reminds of one time when I was having lunch at the Chimes with table full of women gabbing. I wasn't paying much attention until one of them blurted out, "Men generalize too much!" I couldn't help busting out laughing at that point.

There is no shortage of genuine, down-to-earth people in the Northeast. People in Upstate NY love them some hunting and fishing.
That's the drawback. Unless you're in a major city with plentiful ethnic food options, the home cookin' in the interior Northeast sucks.

Damn, y'all must be fat af if no Florida cities made the list.
Florida's one of the leaner states. It has a more affluent population, and all the beaches encourage a greater number of their residents to stay trim.

The obesity problem is absolutely out of control in this country.
The U.S. is so fat at this point that I am wondering when it will finally plateau. It's amazing how nearly 40% of this country's population of 330M are clinically obese.

But New Orleans doesn't make the list?
Probably goes by Metro Area. You are going to include a lot of JP and some other areas with a lot of Asians who tend to be lot thinner than other groups.
