Still, are they going even deeper to the classical roots or blues roots?

The ones really into music and guitar probably are, they'd have to. The mill's in my family aren't. But they aren't particularly musical people anyway.

I'm 29 with many friends from 26-30, and could not disagree more. I live in Nashville though, which might skew the data.

Living in Nashville will get you as far away from good musical acts as humanly possible

I see "Stripes" on all the time on different channels.

Stripes is way underrated as one the the great comedies. I wouldn't put it up their with Airplane, Young Frankenstein or Princess Bride, but I think it beats out things like Spaceballs.

By the way:

There are a ton of posters in this thread who would really enjoy the Tiger Droppings M/TV thread. Those of you who have never checked that out should stop by. It's a great board but it could use a fresh infusion of posters every one in awhile.

Disagree 100%. And where may I ask did you find this 'fact'? Btw, I do like your list of John Candy movies.

Maybe if you only go to Broadway honky tonks and shitty rooftop bars. Nashville music scene goes much further these days.

You were making threads about quitting your job and road head in 2009 which would make you about 9 then.

The kids and grandkids around me.

Hard to get them to engage in communication in the first place via face to face but after that their musical tastes don't seem to go very far back. With one exception is a grandmother friend of mine who has a slew of gifted grandkids from about 2 years up to about 12. They all seem to be able to draw / paint and all seem to have some skill at a musical instrument like the piano or guitar. Sadly no banjo players or fiddlers in the lot, but at least they are playing something.

My almost-3 year old is obsessed with guitars, banjos, fiddles, horns, pianos, drums.

I’m proud and terrified.

Probably gonna put him on a skilled trade track.
