Honestly who gives a shite. Just beat their arse on the field. Actually pretty sure that our most recent games against our new SEC members were wins for the Rebels. You already out recruit them and Oklahoma. Even as a “smaller” member on the SEC totem pole as far as we are concerned, these schools are in for a new awakening and won’t be able to sling the power around that they previously had.

I think A&M, as every other school was involved in these discussions from the very beginning and I think it's a credit to the aggies for putting aside historic differences and doing what is best for the conference

Then I am one of them. I would much rather have A&M in the conference than Texas. Everything they say about Texas is true. I suspect nothing but turmoil to be brought to the SEC from Texas. As a whole they are an arrogant bunch, and will try to take control of the SEC if they are allowed in.

They think they are the center of the universe and are the lynch pin of any conference they are a part of, yet here they are with hat in hand asking to join the SEC.

Thank you for being mostly supportive of us the last ten years, and being yourself on this forum instead of an a-hole caricature like many LSU fans on the rant. I know I have learned from you as a person and you usually don’t get than kind of shite on web forums.

Thank you for your insight and I enjoyed you enjoying beating Bama twice, that sort of excitement is what makes the SEC great. I hope y’all have fun beating Texas and make sure to do it on a day when they are trying to set an attendance record like y’all did for us.

I can actually muster a thank you for you too. You have represented Texas well during my time on the forum, and unlike 99% of Texas fans you can legitimately say you have wanted the SEC thing for a while. I hope you enjoy it, and try to pivot into the other SEC programs more and not just us. Thanks.

Almost guaranteed to be the case. That rumor started from a “Big 12 Source” because Texas can’t get enough and wants our complete humiliation in this to feel like it’s back to old times. The last decade wasn’t great for them or their hubris, and they will break their arm off patting themselves on the back about a move they could have made ten years ago. Thanks for that insight.

Thank you for listing to us, and how you constantly try to bring nuance to the situation. The honest truth is it’s 50-50. Half of it is our experience with Texas in conferences and their attitude that we never left behind completely, half is we don’t want to take the recruiting hit or lose our new brand identity of the SEC in Texas.

Frankly if everyone would have called them out on their bullshite in this move we would have been ok, we would have piled on and given up what we had happily. What makes this so rough is everyone forgetting years of what Texas said about the SEC because it’s fun to build the college football version of the Avengers. They were wrong, they were stuck and yet it’s us getting dunked on. Thanks for understanding.

Aggie fan, Bama fan. It’s a thin line.

Thank you for seeing our point of view this week.

Texas A&M has been a great addition to the conference. I know this is pretty bad right now, but I truly believe after a few seasons of beating the longhorns down there might be a different perspective.

Sorry if it seemed like I was making fun of y'all --- I was just more baffled by the reactions.

The horns seem to think you are the same old aggies, but they are mistaken. I think some of you fear a return to the status quo as well -- but your program is on an entirely different level now.

You recruit among the best nationally, have some of the best facilities and a coach with a track record of development and winning.

I truly believe this will be a case where Texas will be humbled by how much farther along your program is.

Enjoy this season! I really think y'all are well positioned for the the final four and maybe the whole thing.

Now there’s a guy that gets it and I appreciate cardboards reply. I’m all for them joining the best conference and renewing the rivalry on the biggest of stages. They definitely talked shite and scoffed at the lowly trashy idiotic SEC SEC SEC don’t ever let them forget that. They are beyond delusional and arrogant but they don’t think that’s a bad thing at all, they revel in it. There is no greater joy than beating them or watching them lose. Scratch that, winning is better….but just barely. Cardboard, I just moved back to Louisiana from Austin. You couldn’t keep me away from Tiger Stadium this November with a team of horses, hope to see you there

You have nothing to apologize for, and thank you for trying to coach us up this week. You were one of the people I thought about when I made this thread.

I have always admired Auburn fans, and I hope in the post alignment era when dickriding Bama doesn’t score us easy points our two programs can look forward to some cordial game days.

Thanks again!

Thank you for your eye witness accounts of what everyone soon is going to see up close. A Superconference means more quality football and that is a good thing. I know you will enjoy it!

And enjoy being back home. I dream of retiring back in NOLA but I am stuck in Austin for a while longer.

We lived out in Steiner Ranch right across the street from UT Golf Club while my daughter went to Vandergift. Loved it but now back in Louisiana for another stint. Someday to Pacific Grove to retire….good luck to you
