Due to the state budget, I think we charter a bunch of flights now. Politics always plays a part in what we do as a state school. The whornes in austin always bitch. Nevermind the fact that we both have billions in PUF cash to use.

Well the Tiger poster above actually thinks LSU owns the jet that the team flys on so you're probably not working with much here in this thread.

Unlike some other schools, however, MSU flies only pure jets, a brace of Beechjets, to be exact. MSU of course has all kinds of other aircraft as well. Probably more painted in university colors than any other SEC school thanks to Raspet Flight Laboratory.

Those dont look like AD jets, FWIW. there is a difference

I guess maybe an old 737 or 717 if it had been well-maintained, thoroughly inspected and hadn't logged too many flight hours

This is what people don't seem to comprehend. The initial cost of an aircraft big enough to transport an entire team would be expensive as hell but this cost is nothing compared to keeping it airworthy. You could buy a 20 year old 737 for a "bargain" but would spend at least what you paid for it YEARLY to keep it flying. I love flight and have always been fascinated by aircraft, but they are the biggest waste of resources and money to personally own.

Pretty sure that's a turboprop which is a jet with a propeller on the front. Makes for much better mountainous flying

I don't understand LSU's argument in here. Are we supposed to feel bad cause they are too poor to buy a plane? I bet if they asked nicely, they could borrow one from Arkansas. Maybe.
