Texas will sit in the corner and watch the big boys dominate and be a good little pledge

Think of Texas as Chip and Neidermeyer is the SEC

Aggy and Blow U voted with Texas every chance they got and will again. Throw in a couple of the SEC schools that haven't won a championship since the earth cooled and the SEC championship is getting played in Jerry World.

Needed a partner for Oklahoma. You think the SEC really wanted Mizzou? No, they wanted Oklahoma. Took them long enough and had to take 2 equally meh teams to do it but they got the team they really wanted.

The level of ego to believe that the SEC paved the way for y’all by taking teams y’all played against in the SWC is astounding.

Don't take my word for it, ask your former commissioner Harvey Schiller. SEC has long coveted Texas, even before the very first expansion. Not sure why that'd be surprising to you. If you were SEC's commissioner, you'd have Texas as your white whale just the same.

quote:

When Harvey Schiller crossed paths with DeLoss Dodds in the days after Schiller left his post as SEC commissioner, he’d share a smile with the then-Texas athletics director.

Perhaps living behind those smiles was the thought of what could have been.

In July, Texas accepted an invitation to join the SEC in 2025, but the move could happen sooner.

If Schiller got his wish, it would have happened much, much sooner.

Texas was the apple of Schiller’s eye during his time as SEC commissioner from 1986-89.

And the interest was mutual from the Longhorns, Schiller said, although they stayed in the Southwest Conference until later leaving for the Big 12.

Why do you believe this? The have nots in the SEC have zero ties to Texas, moving it anywhere other than Nashville isn’t going to happen.

As the kids say Texas fans “need to take a whole row of seats”. A person with average intelligence would realize Texas has been toxic in every conference they have been part of. The SEC has survived and thrived without the drama queens and I’m really beginning to question if bringing in Oklahoma was worth the cost of Texas.

Longhorn Network is the worst mistake ESPN ever made, and we all know that, especially ESPN.

Oklahoma and Texas were added to the SEC to keep them from bolting to the Big Ten. ESPN money made it happen.

There should be no doubt that adding those two schools makes the SEC even better. But it's not like the SEC is getting two new Alabamas. Certainly not in football.

I'd say their impact on the SEC will be more on the annual scale of Auburn, Tennessee and maybe A&M.

And yet Longhorns people still think they're "elite."

The LHN did it exactly what it was supposed to do. It kept 4 B12 schools from joining the Pac. It crippled the Pac & Fox.

It was also a massive financial windfall, not just for Texas Athletics, but the academic mission of the University of Texas, creating multiple endowed professorships.

In football it is established that we have been an abortion for close to a generation. I am not a Sark believer and expect another disappointing season. When it comes to other sports, Texas is elite, and has 2 Learfield Directors' Cup titles to back that up.
