Did you see a blatant flag on Texas that should've been called?
Several.

Good lord. Bama had 15 penalties. The non safety was explained. Bryce was not down and threw the ball towards Jase McClellan and the ball bounced off a Texas helmet and out of the end zone.
If you want to talk about the one PI that didn't get called I agree with that but the safety play was a good call.

quote:Find the rule and quote it verbatim. So, you could always avoid intentional grounding by throwing it at a defensive player. HINT: I just looked and there is no mention of a deflected ball by a defensive player removes the grounding penalty. Wasn't looking at a complete NCAA rule book but never saw it mentioned in the 5 or so places I looked. Be glad to eat crow if you can find it.
Jesus Christ, it's been explained literally 500 times already why it wasn't grounding.

It was defacto a safety for that very reason. The refs had every opportunity to get it right but did not.

I know you think the universe is Bama-centric but it’s much more likely that the Big XII was trying to stick it to departing Texas
That's not what was said in the OP.

Bama GETS CALLS... prove me wrong.
Bama and the REC will screw you way worse off the field than on it. They will get you on schedule, rulings, eligibility, etc... They control the SEC office in BHAM. Deep State equivalent

of the angles I saw, he was on a big body and nothing ever touched the ground.
I dont know what you were watching but his ankle and wrist touched the ground on separate times before he threw the ball. Both are ruled down by the rulebook.

So none of the 500 that explained this can't find the rule?

Typical day for Bama. DB pass interference and facemask no calls all day long. Just because Bama had 15 penalties called doesn't mean that the refs should give them a pass on the other 15 no calls.

That safety they took off the board was by far one of the worst calls I have ever seen.
It was bad. Now, imagine watching your team play defense on your own goal line, on the road, late in the 4th quarter, 4th down, protecting a lead against a team they hadn't beaten - literally - for as long as you could remember. Imagine watching the play clock hit zero, for about two seconds, with no whistle. Imagine that play going for a touchdown.
Welcome to Kentucky Football in the SEC. Against Florida.

This melt is going to last all season.

As bad as the call was, at least the official didn't tackle the ball carrier. I believe that was a South Carolina game.

It was a safety. His left leg was down in the end zone with ball in hand. Texas should’ve won that game. frick Alabama.

Didn't catch any of the highlights of that even

Screwed by calls yes, but on purpose I don't think so. Big 12 refs have always done this to us. Remember Charlie getting a flag thrown at him after the ref purposely bumped into him?
This is one of the reasons I'm glad we're getting out of the Big 12.

Correct Texas is just getting a taste of its own medicine. When it finally joins the SEC, they will get flagged for outrageous penalties as they won't get favorable treatment from Birmingham.

Depends. SEC Football Officials always protect the favorites. Basketball is just the opposite, they'll bend over backward for a home underdog. If Texas is perceived as one of the football blue-bloods, they'll get the SEC preferred treatment.

Alabama was hammered with penalties all game long. A record for penalties since Saban has been there. But, people say Alabama is favored by officials. LOL

it was a bad decision by Bryce Young to even attempt the pass.
i'd argue it was the best decision he could have made throwing it at the texas players head. if it doesn't hit his helmet, it's intentional grounding, making it a safety.
