woke used to me An“awake”. It was used as a way to say, don’t take everything you read/hear as gospel just bc someone reputable said it. “Stay woke.” Almost like saying, use professional skepticism when evaluating everything.
Of course, it was hijacked by politics, specifically the left. Being woke now means you lean left.
