The ONLY reason to be in any conference is the TV money. SEC games are always among the top watched regular season games on TV.

Okie st has been terrible, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see them improve in year 1 under Eric morris.
They replenished their roster thru the portal with the #6 class. Brought in #3 qb mestemaker from UNT and #1 rb Hawkins. Will probably take more than one year to turn it around, but TT better not look past them in November. On the road and sandwiched between WV and Baylor.

This is why I would like to leave the SEC. Guaranteed playoffs every single year against kindergarten schedule.
Ignore this man.

We might have a shot of making a playoffs once in 10-15 years in those leagues
As bad as Florida was this season, they would’ve probably finished 3rd in Big 12 behind BYU and Texas Tech.

They might have a much easier path to the playoffs but they won’t be battle tested and it’ll bite them in the arse. Ie: getting shut out by a mediocre Oregon that eventually got taken to the woodshed by Indiana.
OU is the prime example prior joining the SEC. Easy path to playoffs only to get spanked.

Texas Tech getting shut out was the least surprising thing this post season.
Go back and read my posts about Texas Tech during the season when I mentioned how your QB was going to get intercepted a bunch and your offense shut down as soon as you played a good team.
You were a product of an easy schedule, because the Big12 isn't a power conference.

You can crap on everyone here and the our conference, but you guys being the new OU or horn, talent whooping everyone in a conference full of 3 stars is still that. You try to act like everyone in your conference has 5 stars and blue chippers like the SEC and Big 10, and that not true. Even our bottom have most blue chips than you, 5 stars at a new improved Vandy they didn’t pay for. Then you turn it into an old Big 12 schools vs your Leech years when you get desperate when he belongs to State. Hated you guys.
Good luck fooling everyone, and yourself. You look foolish laughing and talking football with no context of history, recruiting rosters etc. Now spin this into something that deviates from football into some fake rivalries you never had with A&M, horn, Mizzou or OU.

So they essentially have 12 practice/“get right” games before the playoff whereas most other teams have just one?

That’s pretty bad

Houston's not bad.
houston would the 5th or 6th toughest game on any SEC team's schedule.
They're TT's toughest.
This is one of the byproducts of utterly retarded conference expansion. used to be, EVERY league had 3-4 teams at the top that were legit top ~20 caliber teams. now we have leagues like this wehre all it takes is being halfway decent and you're winning the league and waltzing into the playoffs rested and refreshed.

Both TX Tech and Notre Dame should have to go undefeated to make the cfp with those schedules.
That's where SOS has to be a real, tangible metric in the process...not just lip service.
