Alabama is ranked 9th and lost to FSU (Florida just beat them 40-21). They had near losses to South Carolina and Auburn.
Alabama is only a few spots ahead of TX. That 3rd loss is the difference. If UGA was able to pull off the win against Bama, they would be in the same boat as TX right now.

I will be so happy when we stop beating this dead horse.
We aren’t going. Get over it. Osu or Georgia is probably going to win it all. We sure wouldn’t. No frickin way sark could string together 3 or 4 wins in a row to win it. He is still the same guy who can’t seem to win a game coming out of a bye.

Every year there are teams that are left out that can make a strong case. This is nothing new. Bad enough that texas fans won’t let it go. The rest of you need to also let it go.

That loss to Florida and the near losses to Kentucky and Miss. State don't help their case.

If “near losses” are truly a factor that’s a bad development for all of us in the SEC. If the committee is truly saying that winning road games in the SEC requires style points, while also saying 3 losses in the SEC is equal to 3 losses in the Big XII and ACC…oof.

You say that but there are a hundred examples of your fans saying “close losses should make us look stronger!”

You can’t have one without the other

You can’t be down 2 touchdowns for most of the 4th quarter against Ohio state and then score with 3 minutes left and say “we only lost by 7, we really should have won and this should help our case for the playoffs!”

Then say

“Needing overtime to beat a Mississippi state team that led us by 3 scores should have no impact on how we are viewed”

Texas was down 7 with the ball vs. Ohio State with a chance to force overtime at the end of the game. That game was decided inside the 5 yard line. Ohio State scored on 4th and goal. Texas got stuffed on their 4th and goal. That’s your 7 point difference. Texas outgained OSU ~350-200. I don’t know what to tell you.

Texas has a huge come from behind road win vs MSU. Why is that viewed negatively whereas A&M overcoming a 30-3 halftime deficit (at home) vs South Carolina isn’t? A&M come from behind win revealed the character of their team. So did Texas’. Texas had every reason to lay down in Starkville down 17 already having 2 losses and facing the business end an SEC schedule to come. They didn’t. They rallied and went 6-1 down the stretch showing consistent improvement through the seasons end.

I’m accept that Texas has 3 losses and is out on that basis. If the criteria is “lose 3 and you’re out” then it is what it is. Not sure any of us in this conference should be viewing that as good news moving forward. The committee is essentially telling us all that they don’t value the difficulty of playing in the SEC. It’s no different than an ACC or Big XII schedule in their mind.

TX would still be out imo not considering the OSU game. OK and Bama have better resumes even removing the OSU game.

You're Texas. If you're as good as you blowhards say you are, you're supposed to handle bad SEC teams. You barely escaped them.

You’re wrong, the South Carolina game is absolutely a negative and counted against us

Do you think we are ranked 7 with our only loss being to a top 15 team just for that one loss?

The committee is looking at the entire season for all of us. You’re not special.

No, I think y’all are getting dinged for losing late and losing to the only conference team you played that has a winning record. And losing to a team the committee doesn’t have much respect for. I’d have A&M at the 5 seed right now. I think the USC game was a special performance that very few teams have the capability of delivering.

Missouri is 8-4
LSU is 7-5

Why do your fans like to make up so much shite?

Change that to "If Texas didn't lose to Florida, they would be in."

3 losses in the season should keep anybody out of the Playoffs.
And if the TV announcers didn't slobber all over Arch when he makes 4 good throws in a game, and never point out the 24 bad throws he made, he would be looking for a G5 team in the Portal.

They've told us that for years. You're just more in tune now.

The revisionist history with Texas is interesting. Beat what we know is a mediocre Aggie team. Annihilated by Georgia. OT with State. Lost to Florida one of the worst in conference. OT win over Kentucky the worst team. Vandy was arse in first half and dominated the second half. And they have 3 losses.

Exactly! And Florida ahead of Texas. LFG

Every team that beat auburn had a "near loss". Nobody beat them by more than one score.

Um, where?

Only sites I even see giving Texas odds has them at +10000, same as Vandy.

Yes, my perspective has changed. From the other side you see a lot of SEC favoritism that apparently doesn’t exist, at least to the extent I perceived it.
