Sounds like Texas may have created it, but Arkansas ran with it and it made it what it is today.

yes. I remember it well. We were proud as hell to leave the SWC.

We were a proud program. We were proud to join the SEC and we are even more proud to be in the SEC today.
Hog fans have argued for decades if we should have gone to the big 12. We would have more wins but I shudder to think what would happen as conference expansion heats up.

I was at that last game against texas in Little Rock with my 9 year old son. Not a pretty game except the final score but the noise, the chants and calling the Hogs was deafening. The fans wouldn’t leave after the game until the team came back on the field, you couldn’t leave even if you wanted to.
My son became a full fledged Hog fan that day, bless his heart….

This is earlier than the first time I remember hearing it. It was the 93 Sugar Bowl, the SEC was undefeated in bowl games, and we just beat the hell out of Miami with a one dimensional offense and one hell of a defense. We chanted it proudly because back then the rest of the country didn't realize the SEC was the best. A couple of days later, State shite the bed and blew our streak.

Y'all obviously made the no-brainer correct choice but if Arkansas joining the Big 12 means it's the original Big 12-plus-Arkansas-minus-Baylor, damn that's a salty conference.
