I would absolutely love to see an LSU fan take over of Texas’ Stadium like Georgia did to ND. I know that would be hard to do because there were over forty thousand UGA barking animals in South Bend but I hope LSU can put at least twenty thousand in there. This game is huge for both programs.

There are PLENTY of LSU fans/grads in Austin and Houston. They could pull off the takeover, but never underestimate sidewalk longhorn fans. They have been waiting several years for a decent home game.

The prices aren’t just a reflection on Texas fans and their assy home game. Every LSU fan in Texas has been looking forward for this for years.

The city is going to be jammed with purple and gold all weekend

That's the only home game anyone wants to see. They can't give tickets away, otherwise. Gotta milk it for all it is worth.
Insanely false, yet again.

Downside of playing too many trash teams. Fans are going hold their money and splurge on one or two big games.

Doesn't have anything to do with that. It's a good match-up early in the season. That's it.

When Texas pulls its typical opening game nonsense, the prices will drop quickly.

Wait for it.

It's become a status symbol for alums that have pride in increased job opportunities because of the reputation of the university.

If you go to the LSU game in Baton Rouge (to see the Dawgs get whipped), you're basically showing people you have a lot of disposable income.

This is the biggest home game for the sips in years. The rest of their home ticket is complete garbage

Of course...Texas has so much money they can charge whatever they want and will still sell out the stadium. It's incredible how much money that program makes.

I bought my tickets the moment re-sale was available. Since then I've watched the ticket prices in my section almost double.
Also booked the Airbnb a year in advance in anticipation that prices would rise like they do when big events come to town.

I wouldn't be going if I had to pay what those things are currently costing.

Positive.

I mean, sure, if we were playing Texas State and Lamar at home in the near vicinity, that would really drop the LSU game price down, but we're not SEC SEC strong.

The cheapest entry ticket price for Georgia-Notre Dame right now is $632.50. The cheapest entry ticket price for LSU-Texas is $339.00. LSU-Texas is the 2nd most expensive game in the country right now.

Midfield prices for UGA-Notre Dame are going for $2300 as of today.

Every time these threads come up, no one mentions that this is open market pricing for the tickets, based purely on demand between fans. The $1700 tickets have already been purchased as part of a season ticket plan and have been counted towards a sellout.

Texas isn’t charging $1700/ticket.

No. Awful is paying $75 million for your coach, having a game scheduled against the reigning best team in college football, and having that game play second fiddle to a game between the team you just beat and a criminally overrated little B12 team that can't play defense.
