I looked up tickets online around midfield and it’s around $1700. I looked up the a&m-Clemson game and it’s about $400 a ticket. I want good seats at Texas because it’ll be a once in a lifetime for me but shite

Football has almost become too expensive to attend in person

It really is getting too expensive... I'm fairly certain that just like me, must of us are super fans. I personally have only been to two games in my life. I'm 24 and both were in the 2015 season: LSU vs SC, and LSU vs Western Kentucky. Hell I make just under 6 figures and can't justify the absurd prices for decent seats. And no, the nose bleeds are not better than a livingroom filled with friends watching on a 70" TV with surround sound and as much booze and food as you can consume. Hell for what a single midfield bowl ticket for the Alabama games I can pay my mortgage and truck note... That is just insane....

Downside of playing too many trash teams. Fans are going hold their money and splurge on one or two big games.

I feel that, too bad even the "trash" sec teams cost 200-400 for good seats these days. And not many people go by themselves that I know of...

People can basically find free tickets for most Texas games (Kansas or Baylor or KSU or TCU, for example.). There’s s premium on the LSU game because it’s pretty much the only decent home game they have this year.

I paid a bunch to go to the UT/Bama game at Neyland 3 years ago, blowout game, unruly fans, staying home in the future and watching on my big screen. I no longer see the value of seeing games in person.

$1700?

Do what we always do. Wait until almost opening kickoff and snatch some tix from scalpers or use SeatGeek.

IF you can wait until game day, prices will drop.

It’s an expiration deal like an equity option.

The ticket will become worthless.

However, it’s ok to pay whatever one wants to attend anything. Freedom of choice.

I find the longer I’m willing to wait, the better the pricing.

Our group pulled the trigger a month or so back, insane to see how prices have skyrocketed. I do believe they will somewhat come back down to earth however.

At a certain point in time you begin to price yourself out of the market. When it becomes too expensive for middle class families to attend you've reached the point of diminishing returns.

You can thank bed shitting UGA for this. Had UGA handled their business tickets would be $500. They are hyped and excited. Plus, this is really the only meaningful home game of their season. B12 doesn’t draw well outside of Texass and OU. Not much home excitement after this game.

I basically only attend games these days if I have a ticket given to me, or if its a big game and I get the hook up on face or less.

I'll probably go to Alabama/Duke if I can score a good seat for under $50 on game day. I'll never get to see Bama play in ATL for this cheap again.

That's the only home game anyone wants to see. They can't give tickets away, otherwise. Gotta milk it for all it is worth. I am surprised they didn't tie in another home game (2 for 1) just to sell more for another home game.

Now you know why they keep using their media connections to beg/shame us into renewing the series.

We should never oblige.

The bigger issue is why our old AD decided to sign a contract with so few road tickets for the visiting team.
It's far less than what LSU normally gets from SEC teams on the road.
Let's hope the contract does the same thing when Texas makes the trip to Baton Rouge next year.

Look at their typical home schedule. This is the biggest game there in quite some time.

I can expect those prices to go down significantly.
