Yeah Texas is pretty loud when they think their team has a chance but by mid season they are usually pretty quiet. Which has been the case most seasons for like the last 20 years.

If not for those stupid and annoying cowbells I think Miss St would be high on this list.

USC, Missouri and Arkansas have been to Atlanta multiple trips. Not many but it's been done.

How quickly do you assume UT can come in and break down that door? shite ain't easy, Baw.

not sure I really care about Atlanta.. but it would be nice because it would guarantee the next part that does matter..

the 12 team playoff

0 trips in 4 years = new coach
1 trip in 4 years = the bare minimum
2 or more trips in 4 years = the goal

If Sark is the right guy, we will have a good year and the playoff will be on the table in 2024. If he isn’t the right guy.. we’ll then I guess we will be shopping again. At that point, we may have to call Urban just to prove it can be done..

so I hope Sark gets it done, because I don’t want Urban, even though I have no doubts he would win here.

Quote is dated on Sept. 12, 2022

The LSU game in Baton Rouge wasn't until early November.

So, this article was a bit premature.

Texas has the same problem OU does. Rarely does a big opponent come to town.

It's not to say teams like Kansas State and Texas Tech don't ever put together good teams. More often than not, they do. But even in their best years, Texas and OU are expected to beat them handily. If we take care of business, the crowd is pretty quiet because it's just another day at the office. If the game is close, the crowd is more pissed than excited because we're in a dogfight with Kansas State or TCU. It's not fair to teams like Baylor or Iowa State, but it's proven that our crowds don't get up for this games because they are viewed as inferior opponents. This years' home schedule for OU is so bad it's embarrassing.

When we've had big time home games, our crowd has been up to the challenge. Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas Tech in '08 when they were #2 in the nation under Mike Leach, Iowa State with Seneca Wallace when they were #3 in the country, those were big games with wild crowds.

I would expect that the crowd noise will elevate at both OU and Texas with the elevation of quality opponents once we join the SEC.

Wait. You are now trying to claim that this wasn't a troll thread. Then it says a lot about both of you.

You're in the wrong place for that kind of thinking. If you shoot for 12th, that's all you're going to get.

Oh were we supposed to show out for Iowa State? Literally zero good conference games at home in the last decade plus.

These teams were plenty good enough to take your lunch money. Maybe the shorthorn fans are struggling to respect their equals.

We didn't give a shite about them when we weren't losing to them.

The least sexy SEC home slate of Vanderbilt, Mizzou, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Kentucky is still ahead of the best possible Big 12 home slate.

And you have people on the rant making threads asking why we're excited.

One of those least sexy teams, Texas Tech, is the favorite to win the Big 12 this season.

Seems to me, getting your azz handed to you really isn't all that sexy in any conference

The bottom line:
Texas needs to start playing to a standard set by the coach instead of playing up or down to every single opponent that we play.

This is why we look good against Georgia in 2018, LSU in 2019 and Alabama in 2022. We have the talent to compete in big games, but we also sleep walk some games and allow teams to beat us that have no business doing so.. Maryland, California, Kansas, etc.

Until we fix that problem, we are not back and we will always be unhappy with the season. It’s our number 1 problem imo.

I can't imagine caring about offseason nonsense polls like this. Loudest stadium, best helmet, best traditions.....this banal trivia is the opiate for the depressed cfb masses (like aggies and mizzou fans) who have never won, and will never win, anything that matters in their lifetimes.

Actually, aggy has won more in the SEC than they did in the Big 12, but that fact is always ignored here because SECSECSEC. Isn't this bigrick guy just another alter of that racist aggy fan?
