Texas announcing zero interest in the rival is like someone breaking up with after they find out you are going break up with them, so they can look good. TAMU already dropped UT like a bad habit. TX was greedy and lost Nebraska, CO and TAMU as result. Thank God the SEC has equity in profits and politics!

I don't know how equal the politics are, but thank god for equal monetary distribution

It's fair handed I think. It might become too much perhaps, for some anyway. It'll be interesting to see if anything comes of 8/9 game slate and all options on table, including rivalries.

you have to think OOC rivalries get looked at if and when the SEC goes to 9 games

and just so everyone fully understands that neither side wants the game to come back any time soon, this is a straight quote from the shag

I hope I never see another Texas-aggy game in my life

I feel for their fans, I really do.

They play a large number of games against shite teams. They have Oklahoma and a rising Baylor. Ok State and Tech can cause them problems but after that it's a shite show.

My indifference towards them at the moment really stems from playing the new conference mates in which every game is a lock for a struggle.

I don't have hatred for them. I largely just don't care because the newness is overpowering here. The renovations to Kyle continue this momentum of mindshare so that's that.

No, I do. A hit is out of their control and it sucks for them. They're Texans, and not Okies so compassion is in order.

while this is true, they were 100% supporting the decisions that got them to the point where they are

Never again will the Wehrmacht march down Congress Avenue like they were meant to be there. That has been corrected.

This kind of comment is exactly why the rivalry SHOULD take a break. Each side is so entrenched with their bullshite and talking points that it leads to a situation of stagnation. They are the pussy war-dodging t-sips and we are the "hitler youth" and that is fricking boring.

It has gotten to a point where its nothing like other SEC rivalries (such as the Egg or Iron bowls) because the bullshite and the hyperbole outshine the game. And it is bullshite and hyperbole- surely some Texas students fought in the war and the corps are only a small part of A&M not the whole university.

I will never forget when we came to the SEC how refreshing it was. Sure we still got bashed on, and sure the source material was the same, but it was a fresh new perspective on that material that felt a lot more modern.

Unlike Texas and the other Big 12 teams, SEC fans give us shite about things that apply to the entire fanbase such as keeping male cheerleaders or JFF getting arrested. Even when it is a topic where the basis of the bashing comes from the corps - such as the Jizz Jars - it gets expanded in fun new ways that are more inclusive.

Texas on the other hand is SOOOOO focused on the corps its crazy. Go look on their hairiest forum and you will find a super long thread that is 70+% bashing on the corps boys. They build up this narrative about how crazy these corps kids are (while ignoring any disgraceful antics of comparable Texas frat bros) and then want to project that narrative as the modus operandi entire university and not just the sliver of ROTC students it applies to.

Which at some level makes sense, I mean the school Texas had to deal with for years was a small military academy. Even though we have grown past that, they only see us as the little weird ROTC bro.

If we take a 20-30 year break from the game, when it comes back the entrenched narratives can maybe give way to something new.

Even if the A&M student body were still entirely composed of cadets, it does not merit any comparison to the fricking Nazi-led German army - especially when so many former students (and "Texas Ex's") died fighting those shits.

If the Wehrmacht ever marched down Congress Ave, it would be better than the pussy French who occupy it now.

Not only will it happen again, but next time it does, we'll beat y'all's asses in your own house again, just like last time.
