He doesn't understand either He just saw an A&M thread, and the penny dropped, giving him the "24-19" response, nb4s be damned

Unfortunately, said penny did not leave him any further witty responses.

Is a game that gives you a chance to play in the national championship more important than the Cotton Bowl?

Actually, because of that loss you were left out of the SEC Championship and maybe that BCS Championship. Must be bitter to be so close, yet only to finish in 3rd place in the West because of that loss.

After a decade-plus of mediocrity, we entered the SEC hoping to merely tread water in the first year. Coming up short against UF was painful. Winning the next five saw hope rebound. Failing against LSU brought all the old doubts back.

But after that game, everything for the rest of the season was pure win. Literally everything of significance went our way. Beat #1 Bama on the road. Won every other regular season game in blowout fashion. First freshman Heisman breaking records left and right. Completely embarrassed Stoops and the Sooners in the Cotton Bowl. Even out-recruited Coach February.

In the face of that much awesome, not even the gloomiest pessimist could keep from smiling.

What part of "A&M fans weren't expecting to contend for an SEC title," much less a national title, can't you understand?

And while we're asking questions, is a chicken bowl loss more beneficial than a Cotton Bowl win?

No, but it didn't hurt our championship hopes so I'd say the Florida and Alabama losses mattered a lot more.

It was only for the national title game in hindsight, nobody thought we'd run the table after that. And even had we beaten LSU, it changes the dynamic of the season. Maybe we lose a game after that? There's no way of knowing how things would hae turned out otherwise.

At the time the game was played, the Cotton Bowl was significantly more important than the LSU game. An the fact still remains that nobody is denying LSU scorebord, only the idea that LSU had a better year. They didnt by every other metric.

Everyone knows A&M had a better year than LSU last year. The "3rd in the West" thing is stupid.

LSU came into the year last year thinking national title and lost 3 games, including one to a shitty ACC school.

A&M came into the year hoping not to be embarrassed and came close to playing in the SEC title game.

You're the one talking about championships, not me, and not Ags, therefore my point still stands. As I said earlier, you lack perspective.

It took y'all a heisman winner and a potential overall number 1 pick to come in a tie for 5th in the SEC. But the OP's point was that y'all act like you kicked everyone's asses all year. 5th in the SEC is closer to middle of the pack that near the top. Maybe y'all "lack perspective."

It's also worth pointing out that while Tiger fans are posting "24-19" over and over, A&M is prepared to enter their second year in the SEC with a higher ranking and higher expectations than mighty LSU. We've gone from a probably 5-7 doormat to second best in the best division in the game in six months. They'll have to forgive us for being excited.

But y'all haven't beat LSU in shite since you've joined the SEC. I cant say I'm thrilled to be Texas' Eskimo brother, though.

Ask Arkansas fans about what expectations do for you.

AGAIN. We. Weren't. Expecting. To. Contend. For. A. Title. Of. Any. Kind. Last. Season. Honestly, we as a fanbase would've been pleased to just not be the conference doormat like so many doom and gloomers were predicting.

Y'all were expecting to make a title run last year, so of course falling short of that is a failure in y'all's eyes.

We exceeded our expectations, y'all came up short of yours, and A&M stands a better chance of success next year as currently prognosticated than LSU. That is the bottom line that you must accept.

My only complaint with some A&M posters on this board is that they had one good season and all of a sudden think they're a top tier program. They may well be when we look back on this in 10 years, but it definitely isn't a lock at this point.

For the 1,000th time: WE DON'T CARE.

We were expected to go 5-7/6-6 and MAYBE finish ahead of Ole Miss. We went 11-2 and finished in the top-5 NATIONALLY. I coldn't possibly care less that a bunch of other SEC teams had great years along with us. You REALLY think we give a shite about how South Carolina or Georgia finished in comparison to us?

Why do y'all think you'll be better next year? Tell me it's the 3 picks and 1.6 yards per carry JF had last year against us in a home game.

OK, does LSU not lead the all time series then?

2nd year of an offense that's proven in the past to be even more effective in it's second year and a returning Heisman trophy winner at the controls with a chip on his shoulder against LSU, for starters.
