I think many of their fans greatly underestimate the impact of stepping up in conferences. Fighting to survive week in week out takes its toll over a long season. You can lose to almost anyone (doesn’t mean you will, but you can). I expect OU to be on about the same level as the Cats this year. Perhaps they move ahead of us once they are acclimated to the SEC, but not yet. Texas may be a little better but will still take 2-3 losses in conference

OU has a better team than Texas.

Also OU and Texas have far more talent than Kentucky both programs will be just fine. This scary sec bullshite is getting so laughable, Texas and OU own 90% of the teams in this conference and beat them routinely. I hope a lot of you aren’t this stupid in real life and expect to get ran off the field, because both teams can do it to most of you any day.

What's OU's record in the CFP? Not saying you won't be in the upper half. But you're used to playing in a conference where you have literally one or two big games you could actually lose each season. You're going to have about 7 this year. Good luck.

Yeah but yall typically have some of the worst P5 coaches in the country and subpar QB play. Our depth might be tested more but I think we’ll be very successful.

Can lose to almost anyone, tough schedule. Playing 4 FCS high schools out of conference as starters then the murderers row of Vanderbilt, Kentucky, South Carolina get real. Yes , it will be harder but you guys think you are the NFL. The TOUGH schedule has been the excuse for piss poor seasons for a lot of teams. Both teams will be more than competitive with the league as a whole.

Texas high school football is elite, so I don’t believe the gap will be too far. Okstate & TCU would be neck & neck with Mizzou, ole miss, etc. with that TV money due to good coaching and program consistency. There are no breaks though with G5 schools like Cinci and BYU though, miss state and scar are way tougher.

Well said from a fan of a team that has been a punching bag most of their time in the SEC.

Weren't A&M and Mizzous' best seasons the first 2 they came over from the Big 12? Serious question.

Can you please name the 7 SEC schools on OU’s schedule this year that are as good as 2017 UGA, 2018 Alabama, and 2019 LSU?

Thanks in advance. I didn’t realize we’d playing CFP-level teams every week in the SEC—I may need to contact our administration and ask that we leave the conference.

As I recall, the standard SEC line back then was that the scoring was so high in the BigXII because we didn't play defense. The real defenses were in the SEC. Then aggy rolls in and starts lighting up their scoreboards and has their best season in years, and mizzou starts immediately winning the East. It was funny as hell to watch it happen.

They were just ahead of the curb in play style. Mizzou had tweener pass rushers who were flying by the mammoth OTs SEC teams would recruit in the late 2000’s. A&M had the horses to run a proper airraid system and took advantage of the poor matchups most SEC defenses were outside of LSU.
