To answer your question, it's unique for a few reasons. The location and atmosphere is unique and possibly unparalleled in sport. It's unique because Tx's stadium is named for an Oklahoma native and Sooner All-American. It's uniques because they are firing the cannon and we are shooting guns. It's unique because I've seen Bevo shite in the endzone when it was turf. It's unique because the teams have met 11 times when both were in the top 5.
None of that shite means anything here. You can say the same thing and hype every game here with just about every team’s rivals AND that dates back 100 years of hate. Even with LSU, we’ve been the conference 12 years, but we’ve played each other close to 60 times all together. You either step on your rivals fingers when they are clinging off a ledge or you don’t. If you don’t, that’s not a rival. But I give you that, the only history Sooners have with SEC teams outside of Mizzou and A&M and maybe Arkansas is close to nil. Who do you consider your 2nd and 3rd closest their rivals now??

I bet you guys have probably thrown shade their way more than you will ever see Sooner shade horn all together. That’s weird.

our view of OU and Texas is how OU fans feel about the SEC. I won't be pulling for any of you unless it benefits OU. Just like I didn't care if Texas or anyone else in the Big 12 did well either. I'm a Sooners fan, not a conference fan.

Admitted bias, but I think it's the SEC's best rivalry.
So it's unique because it's the only "rivalry" where both sets of fans literally have loving feelings of great respect and honor towards one another and feel as if it is them against the world.

These two fan bases are going to be walking into people’s pictures in all away games bc they think everyone is there to see them.

Not sure what the 100 years comment means. OU and Tx have played 119 times.
And no you can't say that about every teams rivals.
Take LSU. They've played UGA 33 times and Tennessess 34 times. But they've played Tulane 99 times. Think about it.

Maybe their whole friendship on tRant is some type of ruse. And one of them is going to stab the other in the back in one of these threads while they are taking turns bending over for each other. Idk.
Killing your biggest rival with compliments and respect is some sick twisted shite. That’s some mental illness type thinking that I hope doesn’t spread.

They literally root for one another when A&M plays OU and when Texas plays OSU. In that Cotton Bowl game a lot of horn fans were pulling for OU. It was pretty pathetic

It means whether Bama was playing Tennessee or Auburn in 1924 or playing them this year, those Bama fans were on some “frick you” type stuff with those schools up to this day, and vice versa. It was “frick you” between those fan bases in 1936, 1951, 1981, 1998, 2002, 2014, 2022. Pick the year, it’s been the same. They even got receipts. Old Auburn Tigers in their 80’s kept newspaper clipping of all the post game theatrics, and in Tennessee, they used to save milk cartons of Bama fans that went missing after losing a game in Knoxville in those times. That’s a rivalry.

Translation: "We're scared of Texas, and mad at OU for not hating them more."

Bro, who is scared of texas? What makes texas so scary? Where is this paralyzing fear coming from that is going to grip horn’s opponents this year beside you guys trying to speak it into existence??
Who is shitting their pants vs horn because of their big bad reputation that strikes fear into opponents? Why are Sooners the ones repeating and enforcing this dumbass logic?

Why wasn't the deceased person upset; that is the question. In a society, and we all live in a society, one has to behave normally or risk the chance of irritating those around you.
Being an LSU fan, you know how it is.

There is one thing I know for a certainty about Texas. Its particularly true of Oklahomans - residents of the 5 US states which border Texas and residents of Mexico admire Texas in the same way a loyal dog admires the person who feeds it. It is very strange but the love for Texas, particularly in Oklahoma and her citizens, is unlike anything found anywhere on the planet. Normally there is some good natured ribbing and poking of fun amongst citizens of bordering states....not so with Texas...their neighbors think the sun and moon rises and sets in the arse of Texas. You will never hear someone from Oklahoma disparage Texas....never. In fact just the opposite is true, they will extoll the virtues of Texas at every opportunity and protect the honor and integrity of their most beloved neighbor to the south with every ounce of vigor they possess. It is truly uplifting to experience the neighborly love between Texas and her closest neighbors....

The proof is in the pudding. This was very apparent during the Manziel Cotton Bowl. Texas fans on this site were clearly pulling for OU to win and A&M to lose.
The desire to see A&M lose was just greater. Can’t claim OU is the bigger rival and then root for them to win.

I agree from the evidence on the Rant. That and they both think people should kiss their arse because of who they are. They are the BETA club.

Neither one of the sets of fans really seem to understand why they are getting such negative feedback on a regular basis from SEC fans.
They all think it is us, not them. They haven't changed the way they have normally acted and that is the problem.
This is a sea-change for them. They have almost overnight went from leaders of the pack to middle of the road pacers.
They haven't adjusted themselves yet. It's like when a person from the South moves up North, they have to get acclimatized to the weather for quite a while before they stop feeling like they are freezing to death.

He’s saying they have to be friends bc they hate A&M and Okie Lite together

quote:Lol look how jealous you are that your biggest rival and school you’re jealous of doesn’t look at you as their biggest rival
They been holding hands since they joined the conference bc it’s somehow some former Big 12 teams fault.

You wannabes are so freaking adorable

There seems to be absolutely no difference between the two.
Are you saying Texas and OU are the first fanbases to do this??
