Regrets?? Are you shitting me???
Absolutely NONE. We are in the SEC. If you want to be the best, play the best. Being in this conference is a privilege.
When Aggie got the SEC bid and had the magical Manzel season, they would have easily won the B12 that year and made the playoff.
Ask any of them if they regret the move, the answer would be as emphatic a NO as anything made by us.

Life would be easier if we could find a QB. Once we figure out that part of the equation I anticipate multiple multiples of SEC championships

There are some overly sensitive Sooner fans on here who seem very defensive (due to the perception of being a paper tiger from all the BCS & CFP asskickings, which was well-earned) and I hope they get to where they can relax and join the fun because yeah, the move to the SEC has been fricking AWESOME for all the reasons already said.
Enough cannot be said for this website. We never had a site like this. The entire SEC has a voice here. The mix of disdain, shite talk & camaraderie is what it's about and it's awesome.

TCU and Baylor also dominated them on a regular basis after A&M in Missouri left
They really did fall off of a cliff after Mack Brown

We have no regrets
The Sooners are 2-0 against y'all
Both newbies have made the playoff
Guess the real question is do you have regrets about adding two strong programs to the SEC (especially in the post-Saban era)?

Absolutely no regrets. For all sports, men and women, we'll probably be in the top two or three, all combined forever. Winning the Learfield Directors' Cup first year in SEC is supporting evidence. Most of the SEC however only cares about a few sports.
-Football, we'll be competitive, Sark needs to keep up the improvements and get over Georgia. Seems many teams also need to get over Georgia.
-Basketball (men) I don't care much since Chris Beard and his wench went all WWF in the street.
- Really LOVE the move to SEC for baseball ! Yup Baseball makes it all worth it.

It's all about the playoffs now...if you get in the playoff without a conference championship, who cares

yup, They're going to have to delete CCGs and play 9 or 10 conference games. ND has to join a P4 conference or GTFO.
Oh, and each P4 conference needs to submit their conference seedings based on their tiebreaker rules to the selection committee. Selection committee will use this in decisions.

No, I will take better games to watch throughout the season and your team needs to finish in the top 10. Which is reasonable. Plus the SEC schedule is going to give you the benefit of the doubt (BYU) with one more loss.
Texas made the playoff last year, OU this year. Meanwhile the teams should be better prepared due to facing better competition.

It's been a wild ride so far. People saying we can't compete any any sports and OU and Texas come in and dominate softball. OU dominates gymnastics right away. Both have a playoff appearance in football the first 2 years. What more could you want?

Arizona State won the Big 12 last year, Texas Tech this year. In 2 years in the SEC, you guys have one championship appearance combined and 0 conference titles. Do you think life would be easier if you had stayed in the Big 12? Are the benefits of the SEC worth not being the kings any longer?
We love it. The real question is do you have any regrets us moving in? We cost Bama the playoffs last year and if they miss this year we would have contributed again. Without OU then Bama makes playoffs both years.
Its also meant our admin improving game day experience plus facility upgrades. It was getting stale in B12 and moving was a good ole wakeup call for them. Our baseball facilities are finally getting a boost. Football as well. OU sent staff to away SEC games in the 2 years prior to start date, to learn traditions and experiences to then improve our own.
And fans love the new schools. Don’t look at posters here to judge but actual game days have been awesome both home and away. Everyone has said how great its been interacting with opposing fans.
The biggest challenge to the conference is the 2 teams you added are historical. Meaning the competition in conference is notches better than any other. Its going to cost teams games. Had one been good and one bad then you have equilibrium but thats not the case. It means everyone will suffer more in losses compared to before.
Look at this year the conference is so deep and then schools fired so many coaches due to losses. Not everyone can win so thats an issue to be determined how it shakes out. Going to 9 games will mean even more bloodbath.
At some point it will be SEC vs B10 is my guess. Each conf will have its own playoff with winner playoff other conf for title. And the other conferences will play in their own playoff system. Thats likely how it ends. Adding both teams helps the SEC become the premiere conf and its possible they add more to get 2 super conferences. I’m just glad to be a part of the best one.
Good years will feel better and more accomplished. Bad years will make you realize your weaknesses fast so you can improve.

I enjoy college football and love watching the Aggies and Sooners; however, the Horns are still the team I pull for. That being said, I do not understand your post, when Texas has beaten you two years in a row, and only two years in the conference. Yes, Texas can act like elitists at times, but I see a lot of Aggies on this board crowing. I will be pulling for you and the Sooners in the playoffs. I hope you both have a great showing.

Last time a current B12 team won a natty was Colorado's split championship 1990. Ony other was BYI 1984. Winning the B12 is now like winning the MAC

As a long, long time follower of SEC football I thought it great that Tex and Ok wanted in the conference. Both of you bring a lot of credibility to the conference.
Going to SEC venues, you know and experience the passion that fans bring to the games. A few weeks ago when Texas came into Athens the atmosphere was similar to a championship game. Big crowd, prime time with national TV exposure made it seem more than a regular season game.
The smack talk that goes on can be rather entertaining. I have friends that are fans of a half dozen other SEC programs. We talk smack to each other but have never let it become an obstacle.
This weekly grind, that people have talked about for a long time, is a real thing. Even teams with bad records have guys that can play at a high level .

The Big 12 was great early on when we had a Nebraska game every year. Once Nebraska left it felt empty. Glad to be in the SEC now.

But they don't want easier.
They want more money and to whine and complain.
So, you're saying they want to be typical SEC programs?

Dude... it has been two years... Not twenty...
Texas made it to the CCG in year one. Made the playoffs in year one. OU is going to make the playoffs in year two. So they have done pretty damn well against the total collective of SEC teams. They have now played all SEC teams home and away... Texas has a stellar record against the conference... and OU has a winning record against the conference if you don't count their two losses to Texas.
I don't think any OU or Texas fans came in here thinking we were going to dominate the SEC... but we sure heard a lot about how we were going to get kicked around in the SEC.

I love the SEC.
Every week feels like a bowl game and each win matters heavily, more so than the Big 12.
OU benefits more in the SEC with the SEC network coverage, more TV views, and more respect from national media.
I appreciate SEC schedules. OU has had more home games per season and it’s only year 2.
Not much more to say as everyone here understands the competitiveness and brutality in the SEC every week.
No regrets.
The biggest thing here is both schools went out and got coaches that understood the talent they needed in the trenches to compete in this league. Venables, to his credit, got his defense SEC ready. A Bob Stoops Oklahoma team wins maybe 7 or 8 games a season in this league.

No regrets here. I love the whole season now regardless of who we’re playing.
Something needs to happen to the CFP to account for tougher conference play (and no way OU is better than Vandy or Texas this year, and I think Vandy in particular is getting screwed) but the SEC is a fun ride.
Onward and upwards.

Mark Stoops did that with Kentucky from 2016 to 2023. Mark is not Bob and Kentucky is a far cry from OU.
