Projectp, Sumlin has absolutely dealt with this magnitude. He was OC at OU for some very hyped seasons

I guess you need to hope he learned what not to do from Big Game Bob.

But HC is a different ball game, and no matter how many times you've seen it as an assistant, going through it for the first time as a HC is tough. Like I said, I'm not saying he can't handle it well, just that he hasn't had to handle it in this capacity yet.

Or are you just saying LSU will be better at running in 2013 then it was in 2012.

I think this is what he's saying. We had shite for continuity on our offensive line last year.

He obviously couldn't learn how to beat UF under Bob Stoopid

I'm saying that LSU will be a better running football team in 2013than aTm due to style of play and experience. By style of play I mean RBs only. And by experience I mean Jeremy Hill, Alfred Blue, etc.. have all contributed in big ways for LSU. And Blue didn't play last year. He was our #1 RB.

People tend to forget how good Blue is, so I threw that in.

I 100% think aTm rushes for more yards because of JFF.

eta holy god I worded that badly. But hopefully you see what I'm saying.

Tough tough year for injuries last year for y'all. Especially OL and LB. If y'all weren't LSU I'd have felt bad for y'all

But it leads to optimism that all those list starters are replaced by players with significant PT.

I just personally think that LSU finishes 3rd in the West this year.

I still think LSU beats Texas A&M next year.

A&M's loses basically their entire defense. Unlike LSU, Texas A&M does not have the talent yet to replace so many starters up front. Plus, the game is at LSU.

2013

LSU= 31
Texas A&M= 28

Well wtf does it matter how we get the yards as long as we get them?

But our RBs are still deeper/better than yours. It's ok, your D front 7 is better than ours. It's ok to admit these things

I wouldn't expect anything different. I don't necessarily disagree. LSU has a lot of "unknowns".

But we DO know that we can run the damn football.

Who let this Chalmette dropout on the rant?

Like projectp said, coordinator and head coach are a different game. Also, just as I predicted a couple pages ago, the aggs resort to calling people stupid.

I was limiting the conversation to RBs.

I disagree because we have more experience at RB.

Yes

I agree that you have higher recruited guys. But again, LSU has experience on their side on every level of the depth chart at RB.

This. Once Texas A&M's program settles back into mid-tier status they will resort to making fun of the econmic status of states like Louisiana and Alabama. Mark my words.

That's not true

But we did lose 3 major cogs in Porter, Moore, and Nealy.

Our secondary is vastly improved and I believe we are fine at LB. Our DL is an area of concern but I trust our DL coach (Terry Price) to make them serviceable.

All in all I expect our D to be a little worse than last year and our O to be a little better. The major difference is it'll be the whole year whereas last year we were pretty slow out the gate. Thankfully UF was our only tough early season matchup or we could've easily had another loss

It's fine to be optimistic about your program but good lord pump the brakes a little guys and show a little respect for the great football schools in this conference and your division

You're not calling for reason here, are you?

Because just days go you imputed Rick Perry's transgressions on the entire Texas A&M community while carping about the school and its people.

GTFO with this

Not me. I'm from Louisiana. Still live in Louisiana.

But this Brunnin guy has been full on dumbass on this thread. No knock on LSU, just this guy who probably never went to LSU (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Ah so another piece of the puzzle falls into place.

BTW how does it feel to be a second class Louisianaian due to your lack of LSU support?

I think LSU will beat A&M in a war of a football game but I could see A&M ending up with a better record. Our schedule is brutal.

Lose your run stoppers and main quarterback rushers. That's huge.

quote:

Our secondary is vastly improved

Didn't Louisiana Tech pass for like 500 yards against your secondary. Again, yall lose Moore. The main guy who was pressuring the QB all the time.

Heck, Mett missed about 5 open LSU wide recievers that had good separation from your secondary 25 yards down field. SEC is not a passing conference so they were not exposed like they should have been.

quote:

All in all I expect our D to be a little worse than last year

Yall finished 9th in the SEC in total defense. Ok, I'll give you this statement.

quote:

our O to be a little better

I think your offense will drop a little from last year. Yall lose 2 offensive lineman and Ryan Swope. Plus, the SEC will not be surprised this season by your "Big 12" style offense. The defenses will be ready for JFF. Still might not stop him but they will slow him down better.
