7 pages and nobody noticed that the OP is crying about OOC game and got the games wrong.
A&M doesnt play NM.

Its UTEP.
And until recently, A&M has always very highly ranked SOS. Plus, dont we have Oregon coming up in a few years?

Well, that stood out to me but I didn't think it worth bringing up, as UTEP was pretty awful last year (3-9) and has been for a long time. Better than NM, but... who isn't? What makes that game interesting is the return of Jameill Showers at QB to A&M. But UTEP is definitely a step down from Rice and SMU and perhaps Sam Houston State.

4 years, to the best of my knowledge. We need a more respectable opponent between now and then. I'm counting on Wreck'em Tech in '15 or '16 or both. TCU would also be a good addition.

If you think it's all about making fun of their fans, I submit you've never been to a game in Lubbock. No offense or anything, but the entire city is populated with lunatics. Violent lunatics.
I absolutely have. I have no intention of going to our games in Lubbock if its home and home. I was speaking more to what the atmosphere will be like in CS for these games

Ah, well I apologize. I can't see a game at CS being a problem, though.
My fondest memory of Lubbock was going into a McDonald's before the game and watching a 70+ grandmother-type stand up on her table and scream at us "Get the frick out of here! Go to Hell, Aggies! You GET OUT!" while jabbing her witch fingers at us. Over and over and over. We were mesmerized. And it went downhill in a hurry from there. Piss (or what?) bombs, eATMe shirts worn by the entire student body, a self-professed Karate expert stating his life's ambition was to beat the crap out of 10 A&M fans while we were trying to watch the damn game. No actual violence, but it was really, really weird.
Happiness is Lubbock Texas in my rearview mirror.

They are unnaturally filled with hatred for us. I didn't have a single moment that stood out the time I went to Lubbock but there was just a whole bunch of mad. It was for the 09 game and I fully expected us to get rocked. They were so fricking pissed.
I always had a good time for Tech games in CS though. They travel to CS pretty well and the animosity many of them have makes it seem like a big game even if its not.
TCU would be cool because I would go to Fort Worth for our games and we would take over their stadium

Agreed on TCU. I liked walking around town after the game and students congratulating me for our half-time performance (the band). I just said "Thank you" and let it go

I would rather not add schools not named TCU and Texas Tech. First it is a no win scenario for A&M. Win and that was expected lose and it is global headlines.
Secondly - I would rather play different teams. @Lubbock blows and @TCU blows.
Lets get some new teams in there.

SMU is a BCS school and has been to 4 bowls in a row and won 3.
You are better than this.

AAC/Big East is still a BCS conference.
AAC is not the Big East, they are still a basketball conference. AAC is just another CUSA conference that will get even weaker next year when Louisville and Rutgers bail.

Texas A&M man up and improve your OOC schedule
2012: Jackson State, Troy, South Alabama, and Middle Tennessee
2011: Memphis, Louisiana Tech, UAB, and Tennessee Martin
2010: Memphis, Alcorn State, Houston, and UAB
2009: Jackson State, Georgia Tech, Houston, and Middle Tennessee
2008: Louisiana Tech, Southeast Louisiana, Georgia Tech, and Middle Tennessee
Outside of Oklahoma State in 2013, Mississippi State has played the almighty Georgia Tech twice since 2008! What a hard OOC schedule! Why are you even shite talking Texas A&M? Seriously?

Sorry boss but the AAC is a BCS conference. They get an auto bid for a BCS game. It doesn't matter what they are when Rutgers and Louisville leave b/c the BCS will be over with.

Im not reading the last 7 pages but A&M donors have said the SEC front office has told A&M to hold on scheduling marque ooc games. Since were new and our schedule is more versatile while the realignment scheduling is finished. Im sure no one here will believe me, but A&M typically has at least 1 marque ooc game a year so ill buy it.

1 year on a lifeline does not make a BCS conference long term
10 years ago it was the Big 6 (ACC, B1G, B12, BE, PAC, and SEC)
Now the discussion is already about the Big 5 and the AAC / BE is not one of them
hell, the MWC is listed in this SI article and neither the ACC or Big East appear to be future players.
The American Athletic Conference, a.k.a. the former Big East, is largely in a holding pattern until the power-five leagues fill out their cards. Its current Nos. 2-4 bowls -- Russell Athletic, Belk and Pinstripe -- are all likely parting ways, but the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg, Fla., remains a viable option. Elsewhere, the GoDaddy Bowl (note, it's no longer GoDaddy.com) has announced it will continue its MAC-Sun Belt relationship. Other mid-major bowl partnerships will start trickling out once the major conferences finalize their respective lineups.

Agreed about that but some idiot might look at your post and go Dumb and Dumber "so there's a chance" about the future of the AAC. Need to squash those folks early and often.
