Theyre too unAmerican for me to feel sorry for them.
Maybe a big oil exec will cry for them.

And it’s mandated by state law, otherwise we wouldn’t take anything.

I was about to include that too but I haven't found a source yet. I do know my senior year (2007) that our athletic dept was 0% subsidized.
That's another reason I want FSU in the SEC, it would save taxpayers over $20 mil annually.

LINK
"LSU and Nebraska are the only two athletic departments in the nation that receive no subsidies."
LINK
"1. LSU’s new $28 million facilities were paid for with private donations through TAF.
2. LSU athletics receives no state funds or student fees. All its funding is self-generated. Athletics at every other public school in Louisiana, yes, all those schools with very real and serious infrastructure issues, are subsidized to some degree.
3. The athletic department is on the hook to the university for its athletic scholarships, to the tune of $16 million in the most recent fiscal year. LSU wants its tuition money and the athletic department must pay it."

It would be interesting to overlay that with annual Athletic Department revenue. Higher earning folks tend to have bigger mortgages. San Diego State I don't get.

Not sure what LSU used that money for.
They're paying their WBB coach $2.5 million a year.

Not surprisingly someone doesn't understand debt. There are different types. A&M Athletic dept debt is due to facilities upgrades and expansions and has very little to do with the actual athletic department.
This isn't the same as you being 2 payments behind on your 12 year old Honda Accord.
By the way tard... what you are trying to equate this to is an athletic department budget deficit.
For gods sake don't purchase any Amazon or Apple stock... both companies have well over $100,000,000,000... yes 100 billion in debt.

1. this doesnt include all those "scholars" on TOPS scholarships that are playing sports.
2. When you can raid the Our Lady of the Lake health care system for funding, who needs subsidies?

I haven't been down to Tech in a while.
I'm struggling to imagine what $270M+ capital improvements they could have done.

A&M has over 400,000,000 invested in bonds that is directly attached to this “debt”
Aggie building fund is currently 120,000,000 in the positive
