Might as well get all the excuses covered in this one thread

WestCoast- I am not trying to knock your program, but the SEC west was as weak as it has been in 6-8 years. I like aTm and wish you guys luck. Had a great time on college station last year. I am just saying don't think this is the norm. aTm loses 3. LSU, Bama, and a surprise.

On a side note, if A&M gets to play this game week 1 they likely beat Florida week 2 and ultimately win the BCSNC

I think the LSU game is a toss up. Can't wait for the season to start so we can stop all the speculation.

If we played this the first game out of the box, I'm not sure we win. Then you have a butterfly effect from there.

Hard to say. The defense gelled as the season went along. We may have lost that first game and then we would have been the as,e old Aggies.
I don't see a clear enough path to justify your point. But thanks for the nice thoughts.

Same here. Although I find it interesting you think LSU is a toss-up compared to Bama. He'll, you beat Bama last year and have them at home this year. LSU is a much worse matchup for aTm. But, you are right. Ready to get this thing started

Bama has an offense that doesn't match up well against our defense and I like LSU offense against our young D. Should be a good game and can't wait to see the game in Red Stick this year.

Arkansas is only one year removed from essentially the same season we had. Don't underestimate the upgrade from John Lol Smith to Bielema. I think that one, not Ole Miss, will be our third-toughest game this year.
Eh, Petrino never really recruited well and left a pretty bare roster. No matter how good Bielema is, they lack the talent to be lethal yet.
If you want to talk about a talented roster that has been poorly coached, it's on the plains. But unless they find a QB I'm not that scared of that game either.

My take is that A&M's O will be as good or worse (just a little). I hear from A&M camp it will be better. If so I will take that as a welcome surprise. Not because I doubt A&M's O - but because our QB shattered the all time SEC record. That is a long history.
So to be better? Hard to beat an A+
On D I see us dropping significantly. If we have players step up our D could be good. But nobody knows yet.
So considering last year our O was awesome and or D was damn good. We lost to LSU and Fla. But almost lost to La Tech and Ole Miss.
So I feel it is easily possible to lose to LSU, Bama, Ole Miss - but if D really falls it may bring the mid pack SEC teams into the game.
A&M hasn't played a season in the SEC yet where it gets hairy. Look at all LSU's close wins and still piling up 10 or 11 a year.
If we let teams like Auburn in the game. That stadium will be different than we remember.
Its a huge mystery. Its going to be fun.
I think all agree A&M in the SEC is awesome. Even if you think we are geeks. We kind of are.
You would have hated Texas. Hated.

Tackle & Forced Fumble
Also, how do we have so many posters in this thread that I've never seen on our board?

Nobody mentions that play Biscuit. Archie should have to watch it on a loop with his eyes opened with a toothpick.
This is a competitor. AJ would have watched - like he did in Thibodaux.
That could be an espy for defensive play of the year.
Yea JFF doesn't care about the team - just himself. He cares more than any qb.

Bisquit post that as a new thread - I bet many have not seen that. Never give up. Causes fumble, then makes next fumble while trying to get ball again. That is serious Honey Badger. If he was in Purple and Gold it would be identical.

Just counted. In a seven minute span they called 9 penalties, only one on Tech. Four of the nine in a seven minute span were pass interference. That has to be a record. There were 13 penalties called just in the last 20 minutes, 10 against the Aggies and 3 against Tech. In summary, the refs took over at the end of the game but damn Tech fought their arse off. 27 total penalties for the game. Wow!

A&M was lucky Tech got off the that shitty start in the game. Aggies were outscored 57-32 the rest of the way.

You realize that was basically A&M's M.O. in '12, right? Blow folks the frick out of the water in the first half, then hang on for the win.
Notable exceptions: Ole Miss and OU in the Cotton Bowl.

Had to keep it close to begin to build JFF's legend status.
