Ags,
Tell us a little about your thought process in deciding to extend the high school experience into college and adulthood.

Don't you guys have a homecoming game?? We don't.

After growing up in a large city, I wanted a smaller town atmosphere for my college years — a low-crime town that rallies around the school and embraces the students.
I wanted a socially conservative campus with traditional values, where faith is an active part of life and encouraged, rather than something to protest. I wanted to attend a school with a post-graduate community that takes care of their own like no other, both professionally and personally. And above all else, I wanted a top-notch academic institution.
Texas A&M checked all of these boxes … and more. Plus, it’s a pretty damn fun place to go to school.

I would think most universities have a homecoming game.

This has been by far the best response I've read on the rant the past few months to anon football question

My hat is off to you sir...
All I wanted was a campus with lots of beer and loose women.

Well let’s see. We don’t have homecoming, we don’t have cheerleaders, we don’t have a “hex rally”, we don’t worship a bovine and we don’t pass out dildos to the students.
We do have the nation’s largest ROTC program outside of the military academies, we do commission more officers into the military than any other school, we do have Muster, we do have the world’s largest bonfire, we are also one of the largest universities in the world, etc, etc, etc.
One good thing about College Station is that there is not a single LGBTQ bar or club in town unlike Austin where the LGBTQ bars and clubs outnumber the straight bars and clubs.
You are right! Just like high school!

I could’ve provided pages worth of details covering the last sentence of my post, but I kept it brief and succinct.
I found no shortage of either of your priorities as well.

There is literally nothing in college station except a handful of bars, big box stores, fast food, and an ugly Soviet bloc campus.…

Which happens to be the largest campus in the USA

Weird things for a 17- or 18-year-old to be concerned about.

I’ll have to take your word for it. Such establishments weren’t my preferred hangouts.
