Everything else in this post is mostly garbage. You summed it up perfectly, but it’ll do no good to those who hate Texas A&M more than they love anything at all in their life. Sad.

A&M now has no need for the game and has immense internal pressure not to renew the rivalry from fans.

So serious question.

Florida and Florida state don’t need each other.

Uga and GT don’t need each other.

USC and Clem don’t need each other.

Kentucky and Louisville don’t need other.

Iowa vs Iowa State don’t need each other.

Yet they all play their ooc, instate rival because they are natural competitors. They care about their fanbases that have “deep, caustic” hate for the other school. ..theywant to play the game… yours doesn’t, as you said)

Why is Texas A &M the outlier, Here? What is this pressure, you speak of?

ETA. And preferably from aggressor and no need to get an answer from:

Lobotomy
West Coast
Texag
ColoAg

I want someone level headed to answer this.

Aren’t FSU/UF and USC/Clemson required by their legislatures to play? Not sure about GT/UGA.

But in reality, other than GT, none of them have ever been in the same conference, and have always played OOC. And if it weren’t for the arrogance and condescension of Deloss Dodds, we’d still be playing.

As stated above, it isn’t about “need” it’s about moving on and not wanting to deal with tu.

A&M should have been in the SEC from the get go, and if that were the case this game wouldn’t have succumbed to drama of us leaving the XII.

Pressure not to lose to Texas just like they didn’t want to join sec and get knocked around like today? Then they were forced to leave by their fanbase due to losing near 80 ( e i g h t y) games to Texas?
Sounds like a culture of wanting to avoid conflict, which forces a premature move that doesn’t benefit either.

Part of the problem is A&M has zero trust of Texas.

Herein lies the problem.

Texas is an inherently untrustworthy program. Arkansas finally bailed on the SWC because it was an open secret that Texas was flirting with other conferences.

Nebraska and Colorado fled the Big 8/Big 12 in very large part because they loathed Texas.

Missouri and A&M abandoned their biggest rivalries mostly because of Texas.

That is 5 major programs that all fled a conference in large part because they did not trust or could not stand Texas. I'm not saying this extends to Texas fans, or at least all of them, I get along fine with a few Texas fans on here. But the program itself is a cancerous boil on the backside of college athletics.

to be fair sausage.

It’s all there, said by yours. Not me.

In the football state of the USA. You and I grew up there. You’d think there would be a way. It’s simple. Just SAY YES.

But all I hear are excuses.

They really didn’t want any of the sec (as stated) now they don’t want any of Texas (as stated).

Refute that all you want. The question was asked. Numerous….and I mean numerous aggy posters say they don’t need to or want to.

That means, you don’t want to play your biggest rival ever.

We see it here every day…..numerous aggy posters trying to compensate dodging Texas by begging for a rival with LSU….now auburn.

It would all be different if the respect was earned And not begged for, here on this forum.

Debate is settled.

That’s not true. The SEC wanted either Texas or A&M in 90 but the state legislature cockblocked because they were afraid it would destroy the SWC.

I got it.

So a legislature that has the power to prevent universities from leaving conferences DOES NOT have the power to make the two teams play?

While the Georgia State Leg CAN make Uga vs gt happen?

Something is amiss here. I know what it is.

I don’t think UGA and Tech are required to play. And it’s no longer the case with us and FSU either.

hmmmmm. And you still do.

Per the preference of the fanbases?
Reciprocally, posters, here (it’s all in this here thread) PREFER not to play each other, yet talk copious amounts of shite.

Long drawn out answers can be summed up by a simple answer:

“We don’t want none”.

It was Texas who “didn’t want none” though when A&M left. Do you think it’s a coincidence that no Big 12 team has offered to play them OOC?

Well, according to Fisher once again it is going to be awhile, so end the thread.

destone: you petulant, arrogant arse. You asked for an intelligent post, and you were given several, but yet your continued childish posts prove that you are incapable of conversation that doesn’t fit your narriative.

You and your socks sure can frick up a thread.

that’s not the tone, here answered by aggy posters.

In fact, in your own post you have two opposites.

Texas wants none

Coincidence no one wants to play THEM?

First, calm down.
Second, it’s your opinion thst you offered an intellectual answer.

I simply asked a question on each fear-induced answer.

Lastly, calm down, my son.

Twenty-four pages of bored people arguing, just for argument’s sake.

There’s no other explanation why anyone—other than possibly a few horns and/or Aggies—cares about this topic.

Please, Ags, stop responding/feeding the beast.

And please, Lew, have mercy.
