Probably a mistake. The next couple of years or so would be a good time to catch them.

They were talking about doing that in Dallas. Maybe USC would like to come instead?

I think it's funny that in about 5 years, we may be referring to South Carolina as USC, and Southern Cal as USC-lite.

It's like people forget just how terrible USC was until Carrol took over.

They're waiting fairly late to set up the 2011 game. A lot of schools would have a problem rescheduling at this point.

Yea, probation hurt us pretty bad back in the early 90s but we have weathered the storm.

Speaking of NCAA sanctions, are yall in danger of getting put on probation? I only ask because, well, you know we don't have television in the south. Any news on that front?

But not 2011, which is not likely to be a whole lot better than this year (which is going to be really bad, by the way).

The only upside I see to scheduling USC for next year, when we will be woefully unprepared to face them, is the possibility of beating them and getting in the headlines for our "revenge."

The downsides, though, are that we would probably lose in a rout, which just makes us look silly. USC would be getting recruiting exposure in Atlanta, which isn't good for any of us really, and it would continue to tie Kiffin's name to Tennessee.

Honestly, Kiffin has already gotten his comeuppance, as has Southern Cal. I don't care about them. They're inconsequential and I would like to move on to a new chapter for UT.

they were bad by their standards... but it's all relative

Their 90s would have been a solid decade for South Carolina
