challenge LSU, or Florida, or Alabama? but Tennessee with a new coach?

this is why we have no respect for the PAC 10
at least Penn State is bringin it this year, and Clemson, VA Tech, and North Carolina have in recent years

I think SC will be "rebuilding" in '11 as well.

I wouldnt do it if I was the Tennessee AD, either. Maybe USC should try to play one of the big boys instead of picking on UT in a rebuilding year

Hmmm, who has an opening?

LSU would be an option but they travel to West Va September 24th in 2011 - so unless they could get big extra bucks from ESPN or someone to do it? I doubt it would happen... they like their home revenue too much with the state of LSU's financial being atm

Too bad tho - september 3rd is open for LSU in 2011

Probation is definitely gonna get 'em, I just think it will be 2012 before they really feel the effects. Their recemt recruiting will carry them for a few years.

Kiffin just wants to create a 'bowl' game for his team. I hope no one in the SEC gives him an opportunity.

Yeah, UT plays them in 2021. They can wait.

Is the 2021 date official? I haven't seen it posted anywhere.

Yeah

2021 and I believe 2022. It's a home & home I believe.

BUT...

Meanwhile, the cold war extends to the athletic departments where USC has yet to return a signed contract for a 2021 and 2022 home-and-home football series that was announced in the halcyon early days of Kiffin's tenure at Tennessee. Perhaps the contract got lost in the shuffle of paperwork associated with the probation, or maybe both teams are having second thoughts about bringing each team to campus. After all, Layla Kiffin believes that Tennessee fans want to eat her children. Do you really think she wants to return to Knoxville?

Thanks, that would be cool

I'd have to think LSU would host that game - then travel in something like 2013 or 2014? Be interesting... the big surprise there is they would do another home/away with a west coast school so soon - miles complained a fair amount about how disruptive the travel to washington was to the team's schedule

Says LSU is looking for an opponent and the game would most likely be played at Cowboys stadium

Thanks,

From the article

quote:

Ausberry said last week that LSU is in final-stage negotiations with a handful of potential foes for the 2011 season opener on Sept. 3 and said it’s possible the Tigers could wind up in another high-profile intersectional neutral-site game.

LSU opens the 2010 campaign at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta against North Carolina in the Chick-Fill-A Kickoff.

“Those are the kind of games that bring a lot of positive national attention to your program,” Ausberry said,

quote:

Ausberry said the philosophy is to play a big-name opponent in an NFL stadium to give both teams a chance to generate revenue similar to what they would make on the home game they are giving up.

Are you serious? You have no respect for the PACX because we try to schedule UT and not LSU? Then shouldn't you have zero respect for LSU for scheduling Washington (the year they go 3-9 and after CLM makes fun of Washington for being "a real juggernaut")? Or Tennessee for scheduling ucla (and losing both times)?

Let me ask you this, since you have no respect for the PACX based on their non-conference schedule... Who plays a tougher non-conference schedule? I repeat, which conference, the PACX or the SEC plays a harder non-conference schedule? But I'm not holding my breath for Bama09 to answer.

And in since you forgot, the last time SC played Arkansas and killed them, Arkansas still won the SEC west. And we beat Auburn down at Auburn when they were ranked #6 or better in the polls. Face it, no matter what SEC team SC schedules or tries to schedule, it would never be good enough for you. If SC scheduled UF you'd say, "yeah well, SC was just waiting for Tebow to leave, they're such pussies. They'd never schedule any real team."

What a tool.

When the SEC stops putting 9-10 teams in bowls a year and stops holding up crystal balls, then maybe they'll schedule tougher. Look at overall schedules and tell me who plays a tougher one. Not to mention, just about every bowl the SEC plays in...they play up to competition...and still win 75-80% of the games. (See a 7-5 Tennessee team playing the 9th ranked team in the country last year, VaTech)

Kiffin won't be at USC in 2021 and 2022 so it really won't matter
