Only about 2 years ago, I watched her performing live and she was hitting every single note like she was still in her prime. That means she was still in her prime until the very end. Not many singers can do that.
When I was an OU student and my future wife was at Baylor, she bought the Dolly and Kenny Christmas album. I had to listen to it constantly. That brings back great memories and it is a classic album everyone should own.

True, but then again, Dolly never had a pimp. To think about it today, it's mind blowing that Elvis could never go to England or the rest of Europe.
This is definitely a sad day across Tennessee, the South, and the nation. There probably isn't a better human being alive today.

Has anyone walked the talk better than Dolly Parton?
And even if someone can be said to shine a light as bright as her, has anyone done it for a longer period of time? Her goodwill and philanthropy is over a half century.

Growing up in Northeast Tennessee, now I know what those folks over in the UK must have felt when they lost the Queen.
She was our queen. And I hope they build a big ol statue of her and plant it in front of the state capitol. Greatest Tennesseean of All-Time.

Incredible rags to riches story. Incredible person. RIP Dolly.
Now that I got that out of the way, the Georgia-Tennessee game when Peyton Manning walked Dolly onto the field after the first quarter to sing Rocky Top, and Tennessee was winning and the stadium was buzzing, was a nice reminder that football is a four quarter game and it will always be hilarious lol.
...Also would like to take this time to point out that Georgia is 10-3 in Neyland Stadium this century, and Kirby Smart has never lost there.

Elvis’ passing was more similar to the JFK assassination. There were thousands of people at the gates of Graceland within a couple of hours of his death. The funeral was national coverage. 100’s ofd thousands lined the streets to watch the procession through Memphis.

I remember her on the Porter Wagoner show. She was a smoke show back in the day. I didn't like her singing so much back then. I thought she got better with age.

If you down-voted this simply because of Tennessee - go frick yourself. Dolly did so much for kids all over the place including your own backyard. RIP to the Queen of Tennessee
