Tennessee Cockiness Of Their Offense

Hoople didn’t reinvent the wheel. Coaches will figure out that offense and then Tennessee’s program will be stuck in mud as per usual. Hooker was the most Heisman worthy player last year yet Tennessee ran him into the ground both years. Steele was able to put the brakes on the vaunted Burrow offense thanks to mid-week tinkering. If you think a coach like Steele which has been in the game of football for over half of a whole century cannot figure out Hewpil’s offense, “just watch.”

“WE ARE THEIR ADVERSITY!!”

Kirby and company figured it out right quick but its more than knowing HOW to stop it it is having the personnel who CAN stop it....the upper half of the SEC will, year in and year out, have the coaches and the personnel who can stop it for the most part. It is entirely possible that UT could reverse course and catch fire in a bottle but its unlikely to be more than a 8-4, 10-2 program for the forseeable future. Thats nothing to sneeze at but it ain't where UT fans want to be....

yeah, you just gotta have passrush and corners that will get in receivers face and play man coverage.

Dawgs defense could do that and didn't have to overcommit the box and was still able to stop the run. You have to beat UT offense w/ aggression not passivity.

Exactly. Bama’s scheme last year which afforded Hyatt too much of a cushion was the wrong scheme in hindsight.

Next year with Milton running the show they should never break man defense and keep a spy.

To be fair, he also gave up 45 points last season to both Duke and Middle Tennessee State.

Shane Beamer obviously didn’t have a problem with that unbeatable UT offense.

I’m not really worried about that.

I was no Steele fan when he came to Auburn for similar reasons, but he showed he could put out solid defenses with a decent amount of talent in the front 7, and Saban will continue providing him talent.

If there is meat on the bone, Steele will use it.

UCF offense stagnated towards the end of his tenure there
Now he did have some injuries at the QB position and Tenn should be able to draw a lot more talent than UCF
Plus Heupel has to break in a new offensive coord

As long as Vitiello is on campus the cringe level of Tenn fans will be at an all time high

So you're basically clinging to one performance 3 years ago but completely ignoring two games from just last season?

I said it last season. Heupel’s smoke and mirrors show is over. UGA really held them to 6, as 10RC got 7 more in garbage time. SC boat raced them by throwing their game right back at them. 10RC’s where UGA was under Richt, all O and no D. That’ll beat the weaker teams but won’t get you many trophies.
