Jeremy Jarmon losing his senior year of eligibility. He had a perfectly good explanation for consuming the “banned substance” he had picked up from a fricking GNC.
quote:
During the end of his junior year, Jarmon tested positive for a banned supplement. The supplement had been purchased over-the-counter at a nutrition store as a dietary aid while he was recuperating from an injury. Despite self-reporting and that the substance was not an enhancer, the NCAA suspended Jarmon for his senior year. He subsequently entered the NFL supplemental draft and was taken with a 3rd round pick by the Washington Redskins.

I grew up a UNLV fan and especially a Tarkanian fan

It wasn’t the funeral, it was a benefit. One thing I love about Dale, he didn’t care what the NCAA said, he called his AD and the ncaa after they said no, went anyway and then blasted them at the benefit.

Cam Newton’s dad
The North Carolina scandal
The way they handled Ole miss (it was a shite show and even as a bulldog I can say they got screwed)
The way they handled NC State at the CWS
I could go on but you get the point.

The Cam Newton investigation lasted 13 months moron and the NCAA gave Auburn a Colonoscopy. They didn’t just look into that but everything at Auburn. But your small little dog mind is still butt hurt. Why didn’t they investigate Miss St since it was them and not Auburn who offered and were recorded doing so.

Man I might be wrong but I’d say the butt hurt one is obvious in this conversation lol. It was obvious... everyone does it... only certain schools get called out on it. At least make it more obvious they don’t have a bias.

Inconsistency and the fact most of the time they don't even punish the people who are guilty because they left the schools 2 or 3 years prior.
They got a little better on that with show causes.
A huge lack of balls at the top as well. Unable to stand for anything while constantly folding to even the slightest things they conceive to possibly be bad PR -0 while flat out ignoring the things that are bad PR.

I don’t have a dog in this hunt but the Cam saga at Auburn was total BS. I mean they found the money and did nothing “due to a technicality”…..give me a break! Some how Auburn got away with it when other schools would have gotten hammered!

Whole fricking institution should be dissolved and replaced. Antiquated, arbitrary institution getting rich and creating bullshite jobs for old white guys while they take advantage of the systems in place that steal money and labor from college kids who are mostly minorities.
They are monopolistic, unfair, inequitable, and egotistical. The NCAA went hard after Alabama in the 90's because Stallings stood up to one of the arrogant mother frickers and threw him out of his office. Everyone freely admits Langham signed a cocktail napkin for an agent (for whatever that's worth, probably just wanted to be left alone)but the fallout was so severe simply because NCAA's Barney Fife got butthurt when Stallings didn't cower in fear at the appearance of the great and terrible NCAA.
Kudos to Auburn for showing that the way to deal with the bastards is to clam up, do not cooperate with ANYTHING they ask of you, threaten legal action, and just be a general pain in the arse until they give up and go away.
ETA: If it a voluntary organization, if you join, shouldn't part of the deal be you agree to give their enforcement arm plenipotentiary powers up to and including subpoena powers similar to the judicial system? If your enforcement arm can't require member institutions to be investigated to the fullest extent, what is the point?

The 1st time I remember finding out the NCAA was full of shite was in the mid 80’s when they suspended Steve Alford from Indiana for being in a charity colander which he did for free. It was only like 1-2 games but remember thinking, these guys are full of shite. Since then too many bullshite stories to mention.

Some people so badly want this to be true that they've convinced themselves that it is.
