Hope so but not sure who we will get to replace Napier.
You aren’t going to get anyone worth a shite if he knows he has a grand total of two years to turn the program around. That’s the point.

He was 40-12 at Louisiana. Also the last 3 of 4 seasons there won 22-2 in conference.
My old coach from the Boys Club was undefeated, maybe he should get a shot.
In Napier's last 6 games against P5 schools in the Swamp he's 2-4, and one of those wins was Vandy. In his last 8 games he's 1-7, and the one win is against Samford. He's 2-11 against ranked opponents. In less than 2.5 years he's lost 6 home games.
The Swamp is meaningless right now.
He's played 7 major rivalry games: FSUx2, Georgiax2, Volsx2, Miamix1. He is 1-6 in those games - that is Vol territory during their 15-year era of embarrassment, which is where UF is headed by the way, and if Napier sticks around they'll eclipse that level of futility.
He has the largest staff in CFB and countless idiotic penalties like players with the same number being on the field at the same time, or not having the right number of players on the field, and his offense is predictable as the Miami coaches let us know.
I remember when he was hired and brought in that staff - there were people from Louisiana that said he has all these staff people and never listens to them and just does his own thing. They literally do work for nothing of benefit to the program, but they sure do eat up a lot of payroll.
I have never seen the word "salesman" associated with a coach like I have with Napier, and not in a good way.
He brought in a DC that no one heard of, who has been a disaster, and promoted him ahead of another guy - that guy left and went to A&M and called the defense that shut UF down yesterday.
Not one but two OL coaches and the OL has been awful the entire time he's been at UF.

Florida fans need to get off this guys back.
This is idiocy. He got more support and resources than any other coach in UF's history.
quote:
He's a great coach
Objectively and provably false.
quote:
inherited a mess
And it's still a mess.
quote:
He's losing to great programs
Miami was a laughing stock the past couple years and A&M was a train wreck last year. Cristobal hired at the same time and he has Miami a virtual lock for the playoff. Elko just hired last year. A&M was a disaster last year. No wins over ranked teams. Elko inherited a mess and A&M looks well coached and they just destroyed UF at the LOS.
This is seriously the worst sports take I've seen in a long time. This rivals those insane posts about WNBA players being able to play in the NBA.

Any good coach turns a program around by year 3. It’s not just that UF is losing, it’s that they are getting curb stopped by average top 25 teams and really can’t do anything. Their offense is terrible and their defense is terrible.
Their recruiting additionally not only is not good going forward but it’s not been great under Napier. The forward projection is simply, bad. They have no reason at all to be hopeful the future changes.

He just got more resources and support than any coach in the school's history. He was never given an unrealistic expectation. There were people saying he could fail to go to a bowl game and easily keep his job.
He told everyone this was his best team. He told everyone how great things have been getting. All of it is a lie.
This is not a situation of having to turn things around in two years. It's a situation where he has proven he doesn't belong in two years.

He does. Florida jumping the gun again.

And y’all expect a guy like Kiffin to jump ship after firing him after two years? He basically has tenure at Ole Miss after two 10 win seasons in four years.
Why I’m not as worried as I maybe should be about Florida.

Florida is a coaching graveyard now. You have to give coaches time to turn the program around, especially a dumpster fire like Florida.

You used to need time, now you need money. That's college football now.

Yeah I missed that. Obviously need coffee this morning.

it doesn't look like his players are playing for him. that's the rub. they are totally uninspired. that', to me, is when the coach needs to go.

Napier should get a road win at Starkville next Saturday
Posted on 9/15/24 at 9:33 am to carguymatt
because his team looked like a Jimbo A&M team. No direction, no leadership, no discipline. Cut the cord.

I’m sure lots of Gator fans are upset he lost at home to a first year coach yesterday. But aTm has a roster loaded with stellar athletes, while Napier hasn’t quite gotten his roster up to snuff with the big boys.

I agree with the OP. Give Napier and extension and all the time he wants.
Gators should keep him for at least a decade

By what metric is A&M a "great program"? I could understand "good program" but not great. He got pummeled at home against a first year head coach playing a backup QB. I don't care how you spin it, that's not good.
