I’m obviously not old enough to remember (vividly) that time but I ask….what happened from 1994-1997?

Also, did a coach that had his number exit from the SWC/BIG8/BIG12 that allowed him to have some breathing room? Say like what happened in 2017 with Auburn and Alabama. I’m not comparing Kirby to Osbourne I just know he went a whole hell of a lot of years coaching and didn’t win the big game until like the last 4-5 years of his career…like 3 times in 4 years. If it was just offense that nobody could get used to then that’s that I guess.

He ran the option at Nebraska. Those Nebraska teams had some great defenses.

Switzer was a problem but the years Nebraska could have won natties, his 1 loss came out of conference )1982 and 1983). He was kind of like Mack Brown, always win 10 games but screw up a couple games every year.

As long as the bootlegger's boy, Barry Switzer was at Oklahoma Osborne couldn't beat them to save his soul. When Switzer left that is when Osborne started winning titles at Roid-doid U.

Osborne was 5-12 vs. Switzer, who left Oklahoma in 1988.

Earned or not, that was sort of billed as a match-up of "clean" vs. "dirty," if that makes sense.

He was also 0-3 vs. Jimmy Johnson at Miami.

Osborne was more like the Brian Kelly of his era. Very good coach but couldn't get over the hump due to constantly having inferior athletes than his opponents in big games. He got over the hump when he started to recruit better athletes with speed. Seriously, watch the highlights of their game against Florida in the Fiesta Bowl. The thing that stood out to me besides how much they dominated the line of scrimmage was how fast and athletic they were especially on defense. Having lesser athletes and needing to get better athletes has definitely not been Kirby's problem at Georgia so I don't see how the two men are comparable.

Frick Nebraska and frick Tom Osborne. He wasn't stately and honorable, that was a facade. Lawrence Phillips was a pos who should've been kicked off the team and thrown in prison.

They lucked out and only had to play 93 Nebraska and not 94 or 95.

I'm a little confused.

1)It took Saban something like 9 years before he won his first title
2. Saban was 55 when he went to Alabama and Kirby Smart is 44 or 45
3. Was this a troll?
4. It wasn't a very good troll.
5. If you have any more questions please don't ask them.
