Team with the solid run defense is boldfaced on the left side, opponent held to 0 or fewer rushing yards in parenthesis.

2000 - Mississippi State (vs Florida): -78
2008 - Ole Miss (vs Mississippi State): -51
1999 - Georgia (vs Kentucky): -50
2001 - Auburn (vs Florida): -36
2011 - Georgia ( vs Tennessee): -21
2011 - Georgia (vs Florida): -19
1999 - Mississippi State ( vs Kentucky ):-13
2006 - Florida (vs Tennessee): -11
2011 - Florida (vs Tennessee): -9
1999 - Florida (vs LSU): -7
2003 - LSU (vs South Carolina): 0
2014 - Ole Miss (vs Tennessee): 0

*2008 Ole Miss vs Miss State: State had 37 total yards. Ole Miss won 45-0. One of the most dominating SEC games in recent memory, aside from Alabama vs Vandy in 2017.

*2001 Auburn vs Florida: Auburn was still out-gained by Florida, 328-239. Auburn won 23-20.

*1999 Miss State vs Kentucky: Despite holding UK to -13 yards rushing, a last second FG by State was still needed to win 23-22.

NOTE: Only includes regular season conference games

Didn't we beat you pretty badly in 1999? Like multiple touchdowns I thought.

NCAA counts sacks against rushing yardage.

There was one drive where they had 2 bad snaps in a row that lost like 50 yards. That's the only thing I remember from that game.

eta: 3rd and 57

The stat sheet Saturday night said they held the Gamecocks to zero yards on the ground, although South Carolina athletic officials revised the total to nine yards Sunday after reviewing a third-quarter fumble.

Those bastards!

I wonder if they actually submitted the change. Their school article mentions 0 yards.

USC school article

quote:

The Tigers held South Carolina, which had rushed for 187 yards a game so far this year behind freshman star Demetris Summers, to zero yards on the ground. Summers had 16 yards on eight attempts.

And the boxscore on gamecocksonline.com is different.

Either way, I like the find.

Which is bogus.

I wish they'd do it the NFL way - count QB sacks as a separate offensive category.

Passing Yardage + Rushing Yardage - Sacks = Total Offense

ETA: In that AU-UF 2001 game, Grossman was sacked only once, for 9 yards. He lost 17 yards on a fumble, then UF punter Matt Leach lost another 18 on a quick kick on 3rd and long, resulting in a 4th and 43

Gator RBs rushed 14 times for 10 net yards (0.7 ypc)
