Team by team in the SEC West, have they met your expectations?

1. AU*-Surpassed, even with Cam I didn't think this was any better than a 8-9 win team. I was wrong, their defense has just done enough to win and Cam has been superman. Too bad it won't mean shite.

2. LSU(1)-Surpassed, the best defense in the conference by far, the only dominant defense. With an even average QB this team is undefeated. Chavis and Miles are doing an excellent job in BR.

3. Bama(2)-Fell below, this is a good team don't get me wrong but at the beginning of the year I thought they were great. The defense is damn good but a little sketchy at times. OL has been the achilles heel on offense.

4. Arkansas(3)-Surpassed, this is not a one dimensional offense anymore. With the emergence of Knile Davis and a servicable defense this is a pretty damn solid team. I expect they'll probably finish with 10 wins after the bowl.

5. Mississippi State(4)-Surpassed, this is by no means a great team but it's solid. The defense is one of the best in the conference and along with a strong running game has carried the team to 7 wins. With that said, I expect a similiar season in 2011 before the ship is completely righted with Mullen.

6. Ole Miss (5), Fell below...what can you really say, losses to Vandy, Jax. St, etc. Losing to UT 52-14...this is just a completely horrible team from top to bottom.

LSU and MSU are the only two teams I think have over-achieved.

I'm surprised by Ole Miss's fall from semi-grace, but I've never known Nutt to coach consistently competitive teams.

Alabama is right where I thought they would be as of right now. I had us pegged going 9-3 because we were young on defense.

This Ole Miss team reminds me of the horrible one man led Matt Jones teams Nutt had at Arky.

LSU has exceeded my expectations. I had them 9-3 going in. Auburn is better than expected as is Mississippi State. Arkansas and Alabama is what I expected, but Ole Miss is far worse than I thought.

while undefeated was possible, I expected this team to be a 1-2 loss team; however, I expected our secondary to have gelled better by now and for our pass rush to finish plays, but oh well.

Bama-About right. I expected 9-10 wins with a chance to possibly return to the SECCG
LSU-A little better than I expected. I expected about 2 losses or so. Still could happen, but right now they are doing better. Offense sucks though.
Miss State-About what I expected
Arkansas-About what I expected
Ole Miss-no comment
auburn-better than expected

What were your expectations for Arkansas this year? If there was any season for them to make a run, I thought it was this one. Mallett in his prime and all of the skill players to put up 40+ per game. Petrino teams are always going to have to compensate for a porous defense, but I thought with LSU and Alabama having such mediocre firepower, they'd take the opportunity to win the west.

I've never really liked Mallett and I was real skeptical of their defense coming in, not to mention the running game. I really thought they were going to be a one man team again but they haven't been, at least since the start of the season. I originally thought 7-9 wins for them, now they could win 10 after a bowl.

way way below

And I had them pegged as a 6-6 squad. I figured their defense to be average and their offense to be slightly below average.

Their offense is decent, gotta be pleasantly surprised with that, except for the fact that Masoli is a one and doner.

But that defense. Horrific. Absolutely horribly coached.

We'll be able to make a run next season as well returning a ton of starters and ALL our playmakers minus Mallett and Williams...

We've had a pourous D the previous 2 years due to talent and freshman...We've been pretty good this year minus the game against Cam.

We were in a position to win Bama and AU games in the 4th qtr but turnovers killed us
