The run of being the 1 true superpower was unbelievable, but it is certainly over. It was a good run.

We're now one of a handful of very good teams nationally and in the league. Could be a lot worse.

Damnit, why do you have to be so reasonable and logical this morning!

It might, it might not. It will be a different team, for sure.

They lose a lot of guys every year. Do you follow the NFL draft? Reloading and winning after losing multiple 1st round draft picks is literally Saban’s claim to fame.

They’ve never lost as much as they did last year and project to this year. Coaches..yes. Players..no.

Let’s be realistic though. They’ll fall to the same level as Georgia/Florida/Auburn/LSU at least for a little while.

It’s retarded to think Bama will be challenging Arkansas any time soon.

The assumption there is that basically every draft eligible player with a semi-decent NFL draft grade is leaving. Maybe that happens, maybe not.

It will certainly be a different looking team, but we have been playing a ton of 18 year olds on defense who will receive some help and maturity. Dale, Barmore, Young, Egoibe, Harris, Lee, Battle, Surtain will all be back. Possibly Moses. Offense will obviously take a hit, but it's very possible Wills/Smith/Harris return to add to Dickerson, Neal, Waddle and we get back Trey Sanders. Do we go with the game manager option in Mac or hand the keys to the super freshman Young? No clue.

I'll venture to say we'll be good - no idea how good. It'll be a very different team.

Alabama has now lost two regular season games since 2016.

You've lost to the last two ranked teams you've played.

Granted you rarely play anyone ranked til postseason

Everyone also said Bama was done after Ole Miss came to Tuscaloosa and put up 43.

Bama is not going anywhere. We most likely won't dominate like we usually do, mainly because teams like LSU and UGA have improved. As long as Saban is walking the sidelines, we'll be in the mix more times than not.

Not Bama’s fault most of the West, the whole East and USC, Wisconsin, Florida State and Virginia Tech suck.

You can tell Saban is not having as much fun any more.
I hope he retires soon, instead of letting the game pass him by, like many other really good coaches.

I assume you mean Juniors which has happened since Saban got to Alabama

Alabama has the #3 recruiting class

Look maybe the dynasty is over, maybe it isnt but you guys buried Alabama after losses to Ole Miss, TAMU, au and it didnt happen sooooooo

As with most everything posted here The truth is somewhere between the extremes each side tries to troll each other with.

I am in line with your views SummerofGeorge. Bama will revert to the mean and be one of a handful of teams in the SEC that is yearly fighting for Atlanta and putting it together for a CFP appearance every few years.

Eventually the JR's would start leaving for the NFL at a higher rate and it would bring the juggernaut back to the pack.

Going to be a much more entertaining time during this next decade.

I said this back in 2016 after they lost to Clempson.

"It starts by losing a couple big games. Followed by average rank of recruiting classes dropping. Followed by losing to LSU. Then occasional losses to "normal" opponents. And soon after, the retirement of little nicky. Next thing you know, it's Mike Shula part 2"

It is happening pretty much right on schedule. It won't be long now.

Agreed Geo. It was bound to happen. If not us, then someone else would have done it. That being said, I'm glad it's been us.
