OP completely fails to update his research. Seattle absolved themselves of any claim to the term 12th Man back in 2015.

quote:

So, for about 4 years A&M has been charging the Seattle Seahawks about $150k/year in royalties for use of the slogan "12th Man" (in addition to lump sum settlement).

OP can't count either. The original suit was settled in 2006 in A&M's favor and the Seahawks allowed their portion of the licensing agreement to expire in 2015.

Paul Allen never thought he would get crushed by someone enforcing an existing trademark. After all, he did it constantly for decades.

Robert Gates depantsed him right before the Super Bowl.

Seahawks have been paying for a whole lot longer than 4 years.

One thing Aggy has always been great at: flattering themselves

How is it “flattering” to answer the three specific questions you posed in your OP?

I assumed you wanted answers; is that not the case?

1. Shut the frick up, Randy

2. A trademark holder is REQUIRED to vigorously defend the mark or lose the right. Thus, lawsuits.

3. Shut the frick up, Randy

4. See 1 and 3, then repeat.

How can you possibly claim priority? The expression has been in use forever

1. Because, frick you, Randy.

2. Ask the judge who granted the mark DECADES ago.

3. Shut the frick up, Randy

4. See 1 and 3. Repeat 3 in perpetuity.

That's ironic, Aggie pulling another man's britches up.

Believing that you could have popularized something as banal as 12th Man and feeling strongly enough about it to file a trademark is the height of self-flattery and shamelessness I'd love to see evidence presented

It was/is one of our biggest traditions.
Yes, we feel strongly about it.
LSU has an office/entire department that offers the same protection for LSU’s trademarks.

I’m not quite sure I understand why this has become an issue for you.

If a school wants to trademark "gay male cheerleaders" will aTm sue over that too?

LOL,no offense. I've got nothing against aTm, but you guys have some strange cheerleaders. They are right in front of my seats at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

No offense taken!
This may come as a surprise to you, but you aren’t the first person who’s said that to us.

They aren’t cheerleaders btw.

For the record, your fans post more homosexual posts than I ever thought was possible.
From a sports message board standpoint, it’s unsettling, and it’s weird.

But from a TAMU student’s/Former Student’s perspective, it doesn't bother us in the least.
Keep on doin’ you.
