Qb play and play calling weren’t adequate

They went from 11-0 to 2012 Johnny manziel record and no SEC or national championship. And no bowl win either and no heisman
Not A&M’s best season when you lose to arch rival (and Arch Manning) and don’t score a Td at home

They got average game manager QB play, not because of Beck, but because the play calling shielded his inadequacies. That's the coaching dual that Miami won.. Tamu does the same and they win, by 2 tds.

Stupid stupid stupid.

Beck threw for 103 yds. Nothing average about that

Reed had 0 touchdowns and 7 turnovers in the last two games.

We very much had a two face QB problem this season. You can see both sides of him in the SC first half vs second half.

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see us go for a new QB this off-season to compete for QB1. In fact I'm hoping we do.

But to answer your question we didn't have a suitable QB2, our game against Samford showed us that.

Maybe it's over your head, but that the Miami OC shielded the inadequacies part.

He didn’t commit any turnovers. Difference in the game.

Losing Klein will be addition by subtraction.

How do you figure this? It seemed like the issue was lack of execution on the QBs part.

The personal dig seems superfluous, but we all make our choices.

Your take doesn't acknowledge the defense the qb played against. Miami's defense was elite and forced those struggles.

The OC masking inefficiencies? A&M rushed 35 times for just 89 yards (2.5 yards per carry) while Miami ran 28 times for 175 yards (6.3 per carry). A&M didn't abandon the run despite awful efficiency. 6.3 per rush would have made it much easier to mask Reed's inefficiencies.

Giving A&M a hypothetical better QB while ignoring Miami's actual dominant defensive performance isn't a high level of analysis.

You’re proving my point without realizing it. Miami’s OC did shield his QB — by leaning into what worked and never asking him to win the game on his arm. That’s coaching. A&M kept banging their head into a wall and let their QB wear it.
Yes, Miami’s defense played well — and Miami’s offense responded by protecting its weakness instead of pretending it didn’t exist. A&M didn’t. That’s not “elite defense vs bad QB,” that’s one staff managing limitations and the other exposing them.
Same game, same weather, two very different coaching decisions. One hid the flaws. One amplified them.

A&M ran the ball 35 times. Miami ran it 28 times.

aTm slid by on that weak schedule.

No BAMA, GA, Ole Miss, OU, VU or TN.

They beat ND early.

Fletcher had 10 yards a carry. Only had 17 carries and 10 were on the last three possessions. Miami oc called a horrific game. They just line it up and pound the rock they win by several scores
