I couldn't disagree with you more - if you are able to go to a basketball program that historically has had little success, had trouble bringing in top talent, and had little fan support - and totally change a culture of a program to make it where you are competing for conference championships, bringing in top talent, and has become such a tough ticket to watch in person where fans have to go to Road games just to watch the team play in person - you have overachieved as a coach

A Final 4 and consistent tournament team at AU for a decade? I would say that is really good.

Your phrase above does not describe Auburn fans, BUT,…..it is a nearly perfect description of Gump fans like yourself.

Thanks MillerLiteTime, I completely agree with your post. It is a good time for basketball in our state, both major universities have good teams with good coaching.

This. Rick Barnes wouldn’t be here doing what he is doing if not for Bruce restoring the Vol hoops brand. He is still beloved in Knoxville.

Meanwhile.. Auburn beat Bammer 99-81 (arse whipping) after the peak

And Bammer has the following 4 losses coming up
@Kentucky ( double digit arse whipping coming )
@Ole Miss ( arse whipping coming)
Tennessee ( a real arse whipping )
@Florida ( another arse whipping)

Mark it down . AU will finish ahead of Bammer in the SEC standings.

Ohh and build a damn arena worth something. That DUMP you play in is like a dungeon - cant see shite. You cant even keep the lights on. Worst arena in the league. OLD farts dont even show up for the game and it looks like your fans dont give a SHYT because they sit on their arse if they do show up.

I wouldn't say that. Pearl has made Auburn one of the toughest road games in the SEC.
He definitely upgraded the talent on Auburn's roster. It's very difficult to get fans out down there especially when it's a midweek game. His age is showing though.

He’s done well but probably has peaked. What’s amazing about Pearl is he’s this good of a coach but never even played high school basketball, much less at the college level. He was team manager in college. Pretty unique resume.

I can recognize he’s a good coach but I don’t care much for him. Trouble follows him everywhere he goes. Plus, he coaches at Auburn and frick Auburn.

I remember the days of Tony Barbee, Jeff Lebo, although he did have one fun team, and the last days of Ellis. I will not take what Pearl has done for granted. The last time we made an NCAA tourney before Pearl was 2003 and the last NBA player was Marquis Daniels. I love Auburn Basketball but we were a doormat before Pearl. I’d have taken what Pearl has done in a heartbeat if you asked me when he was hired.

I will take Bruce and what he has done at Auburn again and again.

He got us to a very nice level of play, and hopefully it shows future coaches they can win here and will have a great home advantage and atmosphere.

Well yea, probably. A Final Four would be a "peak" for pretty much every program in this conference sans Kentucky and Billy Donovan.

But good stuff, alter.
