Texas shouldn't have jumped Georgia. Winning close on the road in the SEC trumps beating some nobody team.

We'll see if Texas can navigate the 2 game gauntlet of LA Monroe and the worst Miss St team in 20 years to get to their much needed bye week. The SEC definitely rolled out the red carpet with this schedule...almost as bad as Georgia's last year.

Beck, we are finding out (but had already suspected for a while) is simply a competent game manager. Without a star studded cast around him, he's mediocre at best.

We'll see.

He was 3rd in the nation in passing yards last season. 4th in completion percentage. 7th in yards per pass attempt. 8th in passer rating. Those are pretty good stats for a game manager.

He didn't have a great game against UK. It's probably the worst game he's had in his college career. But you're ignoring a whole lot of previous evidence if you want to classify him based on that one game.

While Texas can hang the hat on going up to Ann Arbor and completely dominating, it’s not easy winning on the road in the sec. Georgia is a top 5 team till someone beats them.

My top 5

1 Texas
2 Georgia
3 ole miss
4 bama
5 Ohio state

Until the sec schedule really gets going, then it will shake out.

I think we're already seeing it.

I was nervous about the UGA game above all others.

Now? Not so much.

But it was nice talking to you, here, at the turning of the tide.

Hmmmm. Then why was I nervous the entire second half when Mizzou had to keep kicking FGs and intercepting poor throws just to stay ahead. Never in question? I don't think I can go along with that.

I don't think any real Georgia fan would disagree after Saturday's game.

Actually I'm surprised they dropped uga to 2, lazy voters usually don't drop #1 until they lose

Even more surprising to me is why they bothered dropping them now considering they play Alabama in 2 weeks. If they win that game they should be #1 as they'd have the better body of work at that point for sure. Why make the move if in 2 weeks you could be putting it right back?

I actually agree with this. Road SEC game should trump a home game vs a chump.

But in that same vein it’s comical to hear all the “Michigan wasn’t a good win” crap. A&M may have gotten a down Fla but like going to the Big House, going to the Swamp is a nice win.

Also the Michigan game was scheduled years ago. Not Texas fault they didn’t build any depth. Also their defense didn’t lose much and were supposed to be stout. Time will tell.

AP Poll: (SEC Top Seven)

1. Texas
2. Georgia
4. Bama
5. Ole Miss
6. Tennessee
7. Mizzou

Other posters have pointed out that when these teams start playing each other, things will get sorted out.

I agree. Just keep in mind that the schedules of those teams are not equal.
Georgia has to play Texas, Bama and Ole Miss on the road. Bama plays Georgia, Mizzou and Tennessee. Ole Miss only has to play Georgia (at home) among the other six. Texas only has to play Georgia (at home) among the other six. Of course, schedules are on paper. Results are on the field. Somebody loaded up some teams' schedules but not others.

About the same caliber teams as y’all (except we haven’t played an FCS team).

Nope. I like Texas being #1. I wish they would drop us to #5 or #6.
