Last weekend we had 64 teams and now this week we are down to 16. These 16 teams are 2 wins away from Omaha. 5 SEC teams still remain alive and have a good shot at making it to Omaha.
4 of the 5 SEC teams made it through regionals pretty easily. Texas A&M had to crawl their way through the elimination bracket and had to beat Cal twice to win that regional in dramatic fashion.
For the second year in a row, the number 1 seed lost in their own regional and both teams were from the PAC 12.
We have some huge super machups this weekend. LSU vs ULL, Florida vs Florida State, TCU vs Texas A&M, and Illinois vs Vandy. Even the Arkansas and Mizzou State series will be pretty good in my opinion. I think 4 of the 5 SEC teams will win the supers and make it to Omaha. The SEC team that I think will lose is Texas A&M. They have to play at TCU and their pitching could hurt them. Good pitching always gets you to Omaha. Whoever has the better pitching will make it to Omaha and I think TCU has the better pitching. I really think VCU has a good shot to beat Miami. What is so impressive about them is their pitching. They are about to play a high powered offensive team named Miami. The most runs they gave up this past weekend was 2 runs. Their pitching will have to be ready to go if they want to knock off Miami. Also in 2012, Stony Brook won the regional in Miami. The last 2 years, it was a middle of the pack SEC team who made it to the national championship. Arkansas has a huge shot to continue that streak.

For what it's worth, y'all probably have the toughest matchup so it's not that far fetched.

Yeah we have a tougher road, but if we pitch like we did last weekend we'll be ok, good luck against lala

He's been making these posts for most of the season. By and large there's been no homerism at all in sta4ever's picks.

He did nail the five SEC schools in the super regional, and hasn't posted anything to indicate he shares the same obsession for A&M that you and Old Sarge have for LSU.

Agreed his picks have been neutral just like Farmer's.

I would take it! Miami would be a tough matchup though.

FWIW, I think y'all win that S.R. with TCU and will be cheering for you.

A&M's comback was impressive.

I'll take A&M over TCU.

Arky should take care of business.

The Florida/Florida State and Illinois/Vandy series will be the best matchups! Both could go either way.

Like I posted earlier, if we get the pitching we got last weekend we'll be ok. We need the bats to be a little better.

As long as y'all don't take lala lightly y'all should go 2 and out

Though it wouldn't surprise me to see Illinois. Vandy is tough when they are on.

The "upset" in terms of national seeding, is Arkansas winning the series.

SMS is dang good. Mane the best 2 starters we've seen all season.
