Remember when Saban posted the Iron Bowl score in the Alabama weight room the after the 2013 Iron Bowl?

And I 100% stand by my statement. He doesn't know anybody with any inside information on Auburn. I'd bet my life on it.

He posted the Oklahoma score as well on the fliers. It was not permanent and not painted on the wall.

Ok

He still posted it. And that doesn't change ANYTHING else I said.

We went 0-8 in the SEC, in what hypothetical world does a team go 1-7 and the lone win is Bama? It's really a stupid argument

Hey MK, since you are our resident swimmer, any insight in this hiring?

Ryan Wochomurka

Sorry in advance for derailing this thread...

I definitely know Wocho A buddy couple years younger than me swam at auburn, so I know several of the early to mid y2k auburn swimmers... via multiple visits. Even spent 2 weeks there in 05 dodging 3 hurricanes. It absolutely cracks me up to see dude as an adult in the pictures in the article. He's still 20/21 in my mind, since I haven't seen him since graduation.

What I do know was he was a sprinter. Bodes better for coaching them, but I also thought Brett Hawke would have gone better. Via relays having fast sprinters really pays off. I'm familiar with how good Louisville was while he was there as an assistant, head coach has been there since leaving bama like 15 years ago His Houston success is unfamiliar to me, but I'll take the press release as an accurate portrayal. One of my swim friends has a baby mama who did under and post grad at Houston. He just laughed when I asked what he knew about their swimming the last few years. It was women's only is all he could tell me.

If I'm being dead honest, it's a much better hire than my school made this year, after our coach quit... to train (swimming, not coaching) our future coach. He has a very well established track record, and will most likely let me into aquatic events for free. Biggest drawback is people will expect Marsh like results, and that's wildly unreasonable.

Thank you! I knew you would be the one to ask. I was there in the heart Marsh year and had a few friends that swam for him, so my expectations are still high even though that's been 20 years.

Granted, if a team is that bad they are not going to beat Alabama.

However it means so much to Auburn fans to beat Alabama, that winning could save an Auburn coach's job. I could see the Auburn trustees not firing a coach after that, and you can too.

I think Greene realized the importance of Swimming to AU Alums. Jacobs ran Marsh off when he started demanding support. I think Greene has finally committed to the program.

Thank you!

You're most certainly welcome.

Dude won like 12 team titles 97-07, 22 was the max possible in that stretch. That's insane success. Neither men nor women's teams scored at NCAAs this year. Safe to say I'd expect improvements from this. Where in between the 2 y'all will settle is

shite, I'm 99.9% sure it matters to Columbia's admission department too. No way my buddy deserved to get into an ivy post grad program

I think there was more to it than that, but not capitulating to Marsh demands is probably one of their biggest blunders last 15 years. I also wouldn't have given in to a swim coach's demand, so there's that

I really enjoy bringing in people with deep ties to the program. I feel they're less likely to bolt on you. It isn't a tier 1 requirement for my fantasy hiring, but it's certainly the first tiebreaker between similarly qualified candidates.
