You really believe that after posting the worst, least competitive season in modern history, having 4 players arrested in a home invasion/robbery, having to hire 24 hour security to tuck players in at night, and weathering a 12 month NCAA investigation that one game even vs. Alabama would have saved his job?

I think not. Done with you.

No way with a 4-8 record and one SEC win. This following a 7-5 season.

AU won the NC in 2010, had an average season the next, and a losing season the next. You are fooling yourself; of course he survives if he beats Alabama that last year.

No matter the circumstances.

Couldn't be more wrong. He burnt his bridges the year before and the PTB felt Gus was the reason for his success. The fact he failed without him was all that was needed. Again, 0-8 in the SEC was the kiss of death and even a win against Bama wouldnt have made a difference. Love how Bammers think they know. Lol

Because, shock of shock, some "Bammers" have deep connections with Auburn. Before you make statements you need to think about that.

This was not my opinion or me saying it, they told me. If you have a problem with it, go talk to the board of trustees at that time.

bullshite, was not going to happen. Decision was made long before the IB.

It very well could have been, but if Auburn beats Alabama that year, it could have ended differently. Again, this is from others who are well connected to the Auburn program.

But we all have our opinions on the subject, and none of us really knows what would have happened, sort of a "what if" situation.

No it just means that AU doesn't gauge success by just beating Bama.

See above. Bama fans didn't paint that fricking wall.

This is just completely incorrect.

Now, you could make the argument that Tubs would have survived 2008 with an IB win. But Chiz was history after the TAMU game. The whole staff knew it and had made their peace with it.

Obviously you aren’t aware of the origin of this classic gif:

If. if, if, come on. It wasn't going to happen. Like I said they had not won a Conference Game all season. The Bama Game wasn't going to change the opinion of Chizik for the PTB. Most didn't want him hired in the first place.

A goal is one thing, a requirement is another. Teams have mottos on the walls at many schools. Again, the IB is just a wrap of the season. The future of a coach is usually made weeks earlier. This year might have been different. Gus would have been 7-3 with a win over Bama, AU would have never fired a coach under those circumstances this season (Covid). The decision was made to fire him after the A&M Game and was really decided after the USC game.

A reasonable side to Cnite, I didn't see that coming. Sorry I called you a retarded girl, was unnecessary and didn't add to the conversation. I'd rather have real conversations/debates than stupid name calling...besides with Texag7...frick him

Remember when Saban posted the Iron Bowl score in the Alabama weight room the after the 2013 Iron Bowl?

And I 100% stand by my statement. He doesn't know anybody with any inside information on Auburn. I'd bet my life on it.

Alabama has nothing to do with our record vs. UGA the last 15 years. Alabama has nothing to do with not winning in Baton Rouge since the last millennium. Alabama didn't cause Gus to shite the bed vs. Tennessee, South Carolina, Minnesota, Northwestern, UCF. Alabama doesn't have anything to do with destroying a 5* QB or several 4* QBs before that.
Alabama didn't make our coaches let 4 of our players rob a house. Alabama didn't hire 24 hour security for our players.
