If this was only about football, no one is afraid of them. But their administration, fans, and alumni make this about far, far more. They have to join the SEC, they have to win the SEC, they have to be the SEC, and the rest of the SEC has to thank Texas for being Texas. They will settle for nothing less. They're Texas. Could have just posted this last paragraph and called it a day

The thing is, we don’t play that shite here. The Texas AD, governor, and Texas legislature won’t have any sway at the league offices. And at a fanbase level, it certainly won’t happen. We don’t work with sips, we don’t live with them, we don’t owe them a damn thing. You couldn’t help being little brother to them for so long with your paltry football, basketball, and baseball history. That doesn’t matter here.

You honestly think the member schools of the other conferences UT dismantled went into it thinking, “We’re going to bend over and take it from the horns whenever they say,”?

That’s not the way it works. It’s mind blowing that so many SEC fans think they’re immune to the same treatment. If I’m “scared” of anything, it’s the willful ignorance on display by the SEC fandom.

The UT program does things a certain way and has for generations. Ain’t nothin gonna change.

OU sees the writing on the wall about the B12's future.

I've been saying all along I felt B12 would be the 1st (& probably only) P5 group to fold.

When most of those schools are Baylor, TCU, Houston, Texas Tech, SMU, and the likes of KState, Iowa State, Ok State… all of whom either kowtow to Texas Politicos or are in fear of not finding another conference to play in and losing an assload of money.

Yes, yes I do.

Texas always had all the chips, the bigger schools said frick it and left, the majority HAVE to be in conference with Texas

bgtiger, it goes a hell of a lot further back than that. Those schools you mentioned are recent news. UT has been pulling their bullshite literally for generations.

I get that. They pulled all that on smaller TEXAS schools and one out of state school.

Then, pulled some shite on smaller Texas schools, some smaller football schools from the Big8, and Nebraska.

The University of Texas , nor any entities who are beholden to them in that state, are going to dictate the goings on of the SEC.

I’m not even saying I want them here, but all this fear is silly.

I don’t worry that much about letting programs into the conference that I’m not scared of playing.

From what I remember, only one aggy poster said it was a HORRIBLE idea and would solidify lobo as the second biggest gaping aggy on this LSUsec forum.

It’s somewhere in the aggy board. You’d have to dig to find it.
