Stop conflating disgust of Texas as fear of playing them

The thing about Texas is . . .
They're very very special. More special than you. They are God's gift to everything they touch. It is their birthright to have more, to do more, to be more, than the rest. How they accomplish this is immaterial. It is their right. They're Texas.
How do you approach a business deal when you know the other side is not operating in good faith? How can you have any form of contract with them knowing that even as they smile and shake hands, they are working a dozen angles in the background to screw you into oblivion? After all, you should feel honored to be in their presence, and even more honored to get to work with them. They do not play well with others. Don't you feel lucky and blessed? They're Texas.
Even if all members of a conference are even, they need to be a little more even than the rest. To them, it's not really a problem, because they know better than you, and will take care of you. You never knew how bad you had it before Texas was your benevolent dictator. You're welcome. They're Texas.
No one is worried about facing their sports teams. No one is afraid of playing their sports teams. They've played awful football for the last decade. Joining the SEC would put them far outside the necessary weight class to hang. If they could just leave it all on the field and let the teams duke it out - that would be ideal. However, if they don't beat you on the field, they will beat you off of it. They do not play on the up and up. They're Texas.
Their alumni held positions on the NCAA infraction committee for many years. Somehow during the 80's, SMU got the death penalty, A&M and others had infractions, Texas got a slap on the wrist and grandfathered all previous infractions away. Charles Alan Wright. More info here: Remember, they're Texas.
Texas and A&M have fought for decades: On the field, through the NCAA, in politics, in legislature. A&M is very much "live and let live". Texas is very much a micro-manager and "we'll take care of you". They fought allowing the A&M University System to expand to include Law and Medical schools. In their humble opinion, the state didn't need options outside of the UT system. They're Texas.
They play the dirtiest of pool and claim innocence. They want to be the flagship of the state. They cannot stand to be out of the spotlight. When they are dethroned, the knives come out. Someone else is in their rightful spot. By any means necessary, they will reclaim it - usually not through ascension, but causing others' descension. They're Texas.
Why is OU coming with them? They represent their best chance at a combined ticket to the best college football conference - in spite of Texas' baggage and reputation. Why does OU put up with the Texas shenanigans? Easy - Texas cannot screw with OU via the state legislature or politics. In spite of this, OU sees the writing on the wall about the B12's future. It's not pretty. By remaining in the B12 up til now, they have to take their chances with the biggest splash school they can. It's Texas.
This is the SEC. No one is afraid of facing any other team on any field or court. It's what we do. We step up to the challenges and face them head on. The SEC is our home, and we're happy to take our lumps when we deserve them. We're happy to give lumps when we can. Here we have mutual trash-talking, mutual game-day hatred, mutual respect (!?), as we all are part of something larger - the SEC.
Bringing in Texas is a terrible idea. They are a poison. A snake in the grass. They cannot change who they are. They do not play fair, they cannot play fair, they will not play fair. If this was only about football, no one is afraid of them. But their administration, fans, and alumni make this about far, far more. They have to join the SEC, they have to win the SEC, they have to be the SEC, and the rest of the SEC has to thank Texas for being Texas. They will settle for nothing less. They're Texas.

But why are you scared of them?
Posted on 7/22/21 at 3:39 pm to CoachFranWasHere
Literally no one will read that. Just tell us the reasons you’re scared of playing them?

Look man. It’s clear as day that Aggies are absolutely terrified of Texas joining

Yes, your lack of fear is apparent by your need to create an alter.

You could have just made a thread stating “I’m scared of Texas” instead of typing that wall of text no one is going to read.

Wasn't it only like 2 years ago the entire A&M contingent "threatened" to quit posting because they were tired of getting made fun of and not getting "enough respect"?

Jesus Christ.
No one is going to read that shite.
No one is going to read that shite.

Don’t even try.
It’s their narrative.
It’s their narrative.
