After delegating play-calling duties among his staff last season, Steve Spurrier said he'll be the only one calling the shots on offense for South Carolina this season.

quote:

Spurrier handed off some of the duties last season after second-guessing some of his own calls early in the 2014 season.

quote:

He'll continue to take suggestions from them, but the Head Ball Coach says he'll have the final decision on all plays this season.

"We're always doing that. I've done that since I've been here, take suggestions here and there, especially on the run game, at times," Spurrier told reporters. "But not always. Not always. I listen to them, but I don't always go with the suggestions, which is expected."

Thank God. It was so obvious he quit calling the plays after the UT game and then started calling the plays again during the second quarter of the bowl game.

I'm sure UGA fans everywhere are devastated.

Why? In the 10 years he's been at SC, only 1 year has spurrier really worked our defense, and that was in 2012.

I laughed.

He's a BAWS! He doesn't need their opinion.

Everytime he reloaded on XBoxLive, he would say "click clack."

Or when someone would blow himself up with a grenade, he'll be all, "nice job, Ray Goof."

This is a good move Cocks. Always liked Spurrier as a play caller.

2012 is the only year that we lost the game because of steve spurrier.

I mean look at 2011 as an example. Did SC score a bunch? Sure did. But we scored in the 40s too. It's also of note that you scored on a defensive touchdown, as well as off a turnover that gave you the ball inside of our 15. We lost that game for a variety of reasons, not just because of spurrier.

No, yall lost that game b/c SC dominated every facet of the game. We had a PR TD and held Murray, Gurley and Marshall to 0 points.

Would you say that UF beat us last year because of their offense? I would, and they did essentially teh same thing SC did in 12. What did shaw throw, 10 passes? If you only throw 10 passes and still score 28 on offense, you've sufficiently beaten the other team's defense.

IDK, I didn't see that game.

I see what you're saying. Shaw only threw 10 passes that game, completed 6, for over 160 yds and 2 TD's. Lattimore ran for over 100 yds on 24 carries and then Shaw had about a dozen carries for 70 yards of rushing. Spurrier did a good job calling plays that game. However, that just means we were scoring when we had the ball.

The defense still had to step up to get the ball back and they did that. Murray went 11-31 for 109 yards and an INT. Gurley and Marshall were held under 40 yards each on 10+ carries. The defense made y'all punt a lot.

There is one interesting point to where you COULD say Steve really is credited big that game, however, it would assume y'all could score 35 pts in 10 minutes. SC had almost a 14-play, 10 minute TD drive in the 4th quarter of that game.
