Bennett deserves a shot drafted or not. He earned it.

I see Stetson playing in Canada or maybe the USFL/XFL if they hang around. The USFL I think has a chance to hang so he may find a home there but he is just too small to have a long lived NFL career. I don’t even think he makes 3rd string just because he doesn’t have the size.

Somebodies gonna get a bargain in Bennett IF Bennett is interested in playing at the next level. I was almost as bad as any UGA fan in doubting Bennett but he changed my mind as he has so many others....dude can, apparently, succeed at anything he is determined to succeed at. Some folks roll that way...its a great attribute to the individual who can pull it off....as long as they desire success and aren't just going through the motions. I still do not think he is a starting QB in the NFL but I think he makes a roster and stays 3-4 years...but I would not bet against him making a roster and making a team better because I have learned better than to doubt him...if thats what he wants to do he most likely will.

bennet could be a nice back up option for 15 years imho..smart . will know playbook..come in and do a good job in preserving a season and not losing it

Backup NFL QB is among the best 4-5 jobs in the world...big money, not overly physically challenging for an athlete and most of the work is learning the playbook and watching film. Other than being boring as watching paint dry it is a great gig.....

Eh...fairly reasonable. He does have some talent and good experience with an NFL scheme going into the league.

That said.. hopefully he gets stuck to a dog shite franchise like the Falcons or something

Falcons would prove to be the height of stupid if he is available in the third round. That is exactly what the Falcons would do though if the opportunity arises....but Bennett would be a great get for the Falcons and could make a difference in Atlanta. ...again, if he wants to.

Absolutely, he sure made a fine backup in the SEC

Without debate the best backup QB in the history of CFB not to mention the SEC and it ain't close....

He's 25 (26 by the 2nd month of next season) and 5-11 tops. Not ideal for getting drafted at all, but because of his performance, my guess is 5th round at best, UFA at worst.

No one is drafting Bennett as a franchise QB who needs seasoning. He is 25 now and has played at a high level in a complex offense for 2 years. He is as seasoned as he is going to be outside of adjusting the speed difference in the NFL (no small adjustment LOL). Physically he is taller than Bryce Young and is as quick or quicker as any QB in the draft or in the league. He is, in my worthless opinion, a suitable backup who can come in when needed and not lose a game or a season on his own. That is worth some serious change in the NFL.

Taller than Young and he is 25 so he ain't having a long storied NFL career unless he becomes a place kicker.....

I disagree that Bennett is as seasoned as he is going to be.

People have been saying that about him for 5 years. All he has been doing is prove them wrong over and over again.

He is a very different qb January 2023 than he was october/November 2022.
There is no reason to think he can't continue to improve as a full time job.

You are right of course... he can no doubt get better and will, my point is that he is good enough as is to make an impact IF that is what he wants to do. I don't think he has to improve to make an impact....he has the skill and ability the only question in my mind is if it is as meaningful to him as proving he could do it at UGA. If it is he will win a superbowl if not multiple superbowls. Some folks are just built that way and it irks most people no end.

Stetson Bennett thrived in an environment where he was doubted by almost everyone. He is, as we speak, entering a similar situation where most are doubting him. If the chipped shoulder that drove him to success at UGA remains in place in the NFL someone is going to bet a bargain similar to Tom Brady.....it is entirely up to Stetson Bennett and how much it means to him.

I don't see him better than a 5th. I hope I am surprised, but we'll see.

If Bennett is even mentioned in a thread you are right there ready to pounce.

Probably about right.

Whoever gets him is getting a winner. May end up being really good in the NFL.

My thoughts exactly. NFL backup QB is the best job in the country. Stand on the sideline, hold a clipboard and wear a hat backwards while hoping nothing happens to the starter.

I believe he and Todd McShay had Jake Fromm as a 3rd rounder as well.

And he was a 5th round pick. 8th QB taken in that draft (which was about what they said, there just weren't many QB's taken in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

That sounds like the same thing I heard when Tim Tebow was going pro. Enjoy the two championships because that will be the highlight of Bennet's career.
