I see what he’s saying but honestly the sec scheduling did Alabama in this year. A lot of teams took their bye before their Alabama games to include Vandy & Oklahoma. Two weeks to script your plays is a huge advantage. They need to limit to number of byes a one team has to overcome.

At some point you have to realize losing 1/4 of your games will probably put you in the position you’re in. I hear much talk about the non-conference schedule but Bama’s losses were all in conference. I think losing to Vandy and Oklahoma were more detrimental than beating Wisconsin helped their case.

Ummmm it wasn’t the OOC games that cost Bama a playoff spot. It was losing to in conference completely mediocre Vandy and Oklahoma teams. Weird statement.

Everybody is hung up on Alabama but this applies to anyone in the SEC. My point is, would Ole Miss lose to Boise, IU, SMU or Clemson? I would much rather go back to 4 teams than see Boise St. lose by 40 to a Georgia or Ohio St.

Who knows, but they did lose to Kentucky…

They could have won that game and been able to answer your above question on the field.

An argument could be made that Bama played 7 teams that fit that description this year. How'd that work out?

Bama AD is acting like a baby. It's not like Bama scheduled a road game at Oregon and lost by three points or anything. They scheduled a 5-7 Wisconsin team and actually won the game. The problem is that Bama lost three conference games, two of them to teams from the bottom half, and one of those quite badly.

So, Bama's solution to their own self-inflicted problem is to state publicly, "We're not going to schedule any more 5-7 Big Ten teams." Really?

How the mighty have fallen.

tDecline is real.

They won't even sniff the playoffs next year.

Probably why they are crying so much this year: they know it's most likely their best chance at making the field, and they fell short.

Why are we talking about OOC? WE (Alabama) are out because of the Oklahoma loss. Shut the frick up about OOC.

We may have a much harder schedule and better wins than several playoff teams, but the Oklahoma loss, combined with a close Clemson win last night, knocked us out

This is a kind of a dumb take.

They were being compared to Ole Miss.

Part of the reason they were ahead of Ole Miss who was also 9-3 was Ole Miss playing Wale Forrest and Alabama playing @Wisconsin.

The tough schedule allowed you to be in that position. Otherwise next time, it will be someone else

Bama fans seem to possess the holier than thou attitude that requires their AD to release a statement.

Bullshite.

I don't know very many rationale Bama fans that think this. Maybe the t-shirts. Maybe Saban wanted this out there and Byrne was his mouthpiece. I don't know. It does look like a bitch move. After the UT loss I think every Bama fan with a brain knew that one more loss was probably it for even sniffing the playoff and then this team gets their shite pushed in by a bad OU team.

The SEC is tough enough, why beat your team up by playing big OOC opponents if it won’t really add much benefit in the end?

It wasn’t the Mercer or Wisconsin game that do you in.

Fair enough but when Georgia tech keeps you out next year, what’s your thoughts then?

No we understand that you wouldn't give a shlt about this if you had made the playoffs. This is just sour grapes, the gump melt of all gump melts.

Now go play your stupid lower tier bowl and leave discussions about the playoffs to fans of relevant teams

The SEC needs to start standing up and lobbying for their own. If they're going to reward average teams for playing weak schedules, the SEC needs to get on board with the same scheduling.

Not only did Alabama get screwed but so did South Carolina.

Sanky needs to be fired for allowing this.
