State... If Stevens is out, are you comfortable with the True Freshman after this weekend

He was about 65%, but he looked lost at times.

He’s tough, but not a confident passer or confident with the decision making. He’ll make some decent plays but have more WTF moments. We’ll go 4-8/5-7 without Stevens, 6-6 with him

Wasn't a big fan of either tbh.
We're in the 3-7 win range at this point. Saturday will see if we're closer to 4-5 or 6-7.

Shrader played reasonably well for a Freshman. The reason we lost the game was a special teams failure. Plain and Simple.
In the first quarter we sucked but we had gained the momentum and were playing well after we went on a 17-0 run from the 2nd to the 4th Quarter. The kickoff return which was tremendous, great blocking and the returner hit the seam and was gone completely turned the game around.
Credit to KSTATE for earning the victory and they deserved it.
Stevens was obviously not at 100% and that is problematic. I think Bear Bryant used to say for every Freshman you start go ahead and mark an “L” in the record book.
This game against UK will tell us a lot. I don’t expect Stevens to play. I have no idea how it will go. UK lost a heartbreaker against UF and we will see how they respond from that.
Who responds the better from a disappointing Finish yesterday will win this game Saturday.

I would rather play Stephens tbqh. The Beard looks mobile and unpredictable. Our secondary is very inexperienced and I'd rather see the guy who doesn't move as much.

I mean if we make routine plays like catching passes that hit you in the numbers we will be fine. Yes teams are gonna move the ball on us.

I think their Freshmen is better then Stevens. I would rather have their freshmen then Trask . He would fit Mullen’s style a lot more. Not sure why he is at State after seeing Fitz suck in that offense.

We had our chances to win that game yesterday, even with a true freshman QB, and just blew it with poor special teams play. I like Shrader, but we will need to simplify the playbook for him for a game or two. Someone near me in the stands mentioned that Stevens was rubbing his shoulder coming off of the field early in the second half yesterday before he was relieved.

He's a good all-purpose quarterback. He can even give you a traffic update surrounding the stadium.
